Paulo Dybala's agent alerted Manchester United by claiming that the Juventus star wants to leave this summer.
Dybala was forced to play Cristiano Ronaldo's second violin this season, with the Argentine deflected wide to accommodate the former Real Madrid man.
He has managed only five goals in Serie A during this period and despite having won four titles in as many years, a transfer could be on the cards.
"Yes, it's a good chance that he will leave Juventus, absolutely, he needs a change," said his agent and brother Gustavo on the Argentine radio program Futbolemico.
"I can't say where it will go, but there is a strong possibility that Paulo leaves.
"Of course he is not happy there. Paulo is not the only one, there are many players who feel uncomfortable at Juve.
"It will not be what Juve will leave this summer."
Mirror Sport reported in February that Dybala was on United's radar, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ready to cash Romelu Lukaku for a deal.
The inability of United to qualify for the Champions League could work against them with the Atletico Madrid which is said to be eager to sign it in place of Antoine Griezmann.
Meanwhile, Dybala's brother has rejected the suggestions that the twenty-five year old wants for Ronaldo's presence.
"Cristiano is a great person and he never had any problems with him. They have a good relationship.
"There have been some tactical misunderstandings, as we do not forget that they have similar positions."
Juve have won only one win in their last five games after finishing the championship.
