Aberdeen kid Connor McLennan pens new deal as he targets regular place in Derek McInnes’ side
CONNOR McLENNAN is targeting a regular place in Derek McInnes’ starting XI after penning a new deal at Aberdeen.
The 19-year-old made his first-team debut at the age of 16 against St Johnstone in the 2015/16 season before his progress was hampered by injury.
The Dons striker came on for the injured Gary Mackay-Steven in last Sunday’s 1-0 Betfred Cup Final loss to Celtic and was rewarded with a starting place against Rangers at Ibrox on Wednesday.
His new deal will keep him at the club until the end of the 2020/21 season and the youngster admits he was desperate to get the contract signed as soon as he heard about it.

“It’s been a great week for me, having been involved in the Betfred Cup Final and then starting at Ibrox on Wednesday for what was a massive win.
