Who is Saoirse Ronan?
Saoirse was born in New York but when she was three, her Irish parents moved her back to their native country.
Aged nine, Saoirse started appearing on RTE shows and was soon auditioning for the role of Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter films, a part she did not win.
The actress hit the big screen for the first time in 2007 at the tender age of 13 in Atonement, in which she played the younger version of Romola Garai’s character Briony.
Since then she’s had major and lead roles in Brooklyn, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Host, How I Live Now, Hanna and The Lovely Bones.
