Tom Hardy names newborn son Forrest after favourite film character Forrest Gump played by Tom Hanks
HOLLYWOOD hunk Tom Hardy has named his newborn son Forrest in a nod to one of his favourite film characters.
Tom’s actress wife Charlotte Riley, 37, gave birth to their son last month but they have only told close pals and family.
An insider said: “The couple are over the moon with the new addition to the family.
“Friends are already saying that the baby boy looks exactly like Tom.
“They’ve been laying low over the festive period so they can get used to having a busier household and adjusting to the needs of a newborn.
“They love the name Forrest as it’s earthy and strong. Tom has always found the movie Forrest Gump very inspiring and enjoyable and thinks it fits.”
Tom Hanks, 62, won an Oscar in 1995 for playing Forrest.
Hardy, 41, met Charlotte on the set of ITV series Wuthering Heights ten years ago.
They married in 2014. They already have a three-year-old daughter together, but have never revealed her name.

Tom also has son Louis, ten, with his actress ex Rachael Speed.
Last year, Tom said: “There is no harder and more important job on the planet than parenting.
“You’ve got the military, police, doctors, service personnel — massive respect, huge consequences — but parenting? It’s beyond a job, isn’t it.”
