WWE gossip column: All Elite Wrestling planning to make big move in the United Kingdom and all of today’s top news
With Money in the Bank this Sunday and All Elite Wrestling’s debut of Double of Nothing the following Saturday, the wrestling business has a serious buzz about it right now.
Let’s dig into the very latest rumours:
Paige reveals how Kabuki Warriors got their name
The union of Asuka and Kairi Sane has spawned the name the Kabuki Warriors we learned this week, but their manager Paige revealed on Twitter it was Sane and Asuka themselves that wanted that name – or at least a version of it.
Some fans have been critical of the tag team name online.
It was noted last week that Vince McMahon is a big fan of Andrade and it seems like he’s set for a decent push following Money in the Bank.
According to Dave Meltzer, Andrade has been pegged to work with Finn Balor over the Intercontinental title in the months after the pay-per-view.
Nia Jax not out until 2020
Brad Shepard had reported per ‘sources’ that Nia Jax would be out of action until ‘the first quarter of 2020’.
Jax herself responded on Twitter by denying that claim. The former Raw Women’s champion has had double knee surgery but is already rehabilitating.
AEW looking to capitalise on UK market
With the United Kingdom widely recognised as the biggest wrestling market outside of North America – though Mexico and Japan do rival – AEW are set to go hard to set up their fanbase there.
Of course, WWE has the NXT UK brand but Dave Meltzer believes AEW are going to have several PPVs in the UK each year, something the WWE is reluctant to give UK fans.
