A large-scale Cheesecake Factory giveaway clogged not only arteries but also the roads surrounding a Virginia restaurant where one person was taken to a hospital and faces a disorderly conduct charge.

Arlington County Police say they received calls Wednesday for traffic disruptions at a Cheesecake Factory in Clarendon.

The restaurant was participating in a national giveaway of 40,000 cheesecake slices in conjunction with a food-delivery service.

Police spokeswoman Ashley Savage says nearby roads were jammed, would-be delivery drivers were double-parked and there were reports of a fistfight.

‘Celebrate our 40th anniversary with 40,000 slices on us! On December 5th get a free slice* delivered with @Doordash, no strings attached,’  the Cheesecake Factory promoted on its Twitter page.

‘Find out how to get yours. *Offer valid on 12/5/18 starting at 11:30am local time, while supplies last. Additional Terms and Conditions apply.’

Savage says officers were called to the restaurant around 1pm to manage traffic as drivers were causing huge traffic jams and illegally parking.

But throngs of drivers arrived, a fight reportedly broke out inside.

Officers arrived after the fight, but one individual refused police commands to leave the restaurant and resisted efforts at removal.
