Dr Disrespect has been banned from Twitch and E3 after streaming from a bathroom
June 12, 2019 Following last night’s stream, Dr Disrespect has had his E3 pass revoked by event organisers.
Dr Disrespect has been banned from Twitch. At time of writing, his channel is listed as unavailable (click here to see for yourself). According to Kotaku, E3 organisers the Entertainment Software Association have also revoked the streamer’s E3 badge.
For his first ever IRL (in real life) stream, the provocative personality filmed his day at E3. He went to use the bathroom, and his cameraman followed.
This in itself might have been enough to get him banned. Filming others in public without their consent is generally fine under California state law, but not in a public bathroom, or anywhere else where people have a reasonable expectation of privacy. Twitch’s community guidelines prohibit illegal activity – as you’d hope – but also have specific terms against violating “another’s reasonable expectation of privacy, for example streaming from a private space.”
