ACTRESS DENISE NICKERSON DIES AT 62

On Thursday, July 11, it was announced that American actress Denise Nickerson had passed away at the age of 62, after suffering respiratory distress and pneumonia, subsequently being taken off of life support by her family.

Nickerson was best known for her role as bratty Violet Beauregarde in the classic 1971 film Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory. She is the first of the five central children to pass away.

One of the few Willy Wonka child stars to continue acting, she also played the role of ‘Nora Collins’ on Dark Shadows from 1968 to 1970.

At the time of her death, Nickerson was reportedly penniless. Money is being raised for her burial.
