(Picture: ITV) Matty Barton’s desperation to fit in is set to lead to him going too far in dramatic Emmerdale scenes as he is led astray by two so-called friends called Ste and Jonno. But how deep will Matty get into trouble – and will he find himself isolated from the village as a result of his rash and offensive actions? Actor Ash Palmisciano told Metro.co.uk: ‘Basically, Matty is still trying to settle in to the village, he’s feeling more like himself and he’s feeling pretty great, and then what happens is that as he’s playing football, he’s picked last a lot of the time, he’s left out by the other lads, and then he learns that Victoria is leaving for Cornwall and he’s pretty upset about it. So he just feels not good enough, basically. ‘And he meets some lads who are playing in a team against him, called Steve and Jonno, and they’re pretty bad boys really. And Ash feels that in order for him to be respected by the other lads, for him to be a “proper man”, he has to be like this – he has to be like one of those guys. And he goes on a bit of a mission. It taps into the whole toxic masculinity thing. Matty feels as those he has to be more like them in order to fit in. Basically he’s going though it a little bit late in life – something that most lads go through at about 12 or 13 – trying to figure out how to act with the lads. It’s definitely a side to him that we haven’t seen before.’ As Matty gives in to peer pressure in order to try and impress his dodgy new mates, his behaviour will spiral out of control. (Picture: ITV) Ash explained: ‘He does a lot of things out of character. Talking disrespectfully to women. Getting into fights. Alienating himself and not talking about his emotions. Getting into a bit of a tricky place with Dan. Also, this is a bit of an issue with having Cain as a role model. He’s the big man who sorts everything out, and so Matty feels that how he ought to behave. ‘In Matty’s head he thinks it’s all going well – he thinks he’s doing the right thing knocking around with these guys, but actually they’re taking him for a bit of a ride, and that’s the really sad thing about it. He thinks he’s got mates, but actually they’re just taking the mick out of him. They’re bullies, really. They’re using him to get what they want, and they eventually use him to help them break in to Butler’s Farm. ‘He does take it to a point where he’s a bit out of control.’ Thankfully, with people such as Pete, Billy, Ellis and Victoria warning him about his actions and a new friendship with Ryan, Matty will be pulled back from the edge and Ash is hopeful that the situation will provide some lessons and growth for his character. He mused: ‘I think it will be beneficial in the long run, because now he knows it’s okay to be different. And he has this beautiful friendship with Ryan where they can both say “Do you know? You don’t have to be like everyone else.” So I think he’ll be his own person after what, and we’ll finally see the real Matty, which I very excited about.’ [metro-zone-post-strip]

(Picture: ITV) Emmerdale fans are calling for Andy Sugden (Kelvin Fletcher) to return to the soap ahead of the exit of Robert (Ryan Hawley) given how involved the brothers have always been right up until when Robert helped Andy flee the village. As speculation mounts that Robert may kill Victoria’s (Isabel Hodgins) rapist Lee in a shocking showdown, might he have to do what Andy once did and go on the run? When Andy was framed by Chrissie White for shooting Lawrence several years ago, Robert stepped up despite their many differences and fallouts and helped Andy evade imprisonment. As the brothers had a touching moment of understanding and reunion, Robert was genuinely sad to see Andy go. With Lachlan now having been unmasked as the culprit of that crime – and many others – Andy could technically return and only face smaller charges. If Robert does indeed commit murder and is facing years inside himself, could Andy return to return the favour now the shoe is on the other foot? Fans have often called on Kelvin to come back to the role he was in for almost two decades and he has never ruled it out although when he was most recently asked, he confirmed the time wasn’t yet right. However, with Victoria’s ordeal and Robert making what is bound to be an explosive exit, what better opportunity for there to be for Andy to make a reappearance and help Robert in his time of need? Of course, this remains viewer speculation at this stage as no plans for Robert’s final exit storyline have been revealed. However, a trailer recently added weight to beliefs that he might kill Lee in an act of revenge as a bleeding Robert closed in on him and told the horrific attacker that he wasn’t walking away from this showdown. It seems like however Robert’s story ends, he is going to need all the help he can get… [metro-zone-post-strip]

Breda is ready to kill again (Picture: Channel 4) Hollyoaks have promised us a ‘killer summer’ over the next few months, and there’s no doubt that Breda McQueen (Moya Brady) is going to be at the forefront. The serial killer has her sights on another murder victim, and show bosses have confirmed that there will be at least one person to fall at her hands. A trailer for the upcoming six weeks teased who Breda may have set her sights on, with a body being found in the river, and the God-complex murderer looking somewhat cagey. She’s then seen in confession at the church, and spying on Mercedes, before sneaking up on an unseen, unsuspecting person. But just who will be the unlucky person (or people) to meet a grisly end? If Breda’s past is anything to go by, it’ll potentially be a man that she kills next, as she has her heart set on offing the ‘bad dads’ of the village. In the frame that puts Daren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson), who has been neglecting fatherly duties, and Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) and Liam Donovan (Jude McGowan), who’ve been having a steamy affair behind Breda’s son Slyver’s (David Tag) back. It could also be new dad Harry Thompson (Parry Glasspool) or Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard), both of whom are going through the ringer dealing with their own troubles. Has Breda McQueen chosen her next victim? (Picture: Channel 4) Moya Brady, who plays Breda McQueen, said in an interview Harry was on her radar, adding he ‘better step up’ amid the current situation he’s facing. ‘Well I think Harry better step up because there is a new born baby, which was brought in to this world by Breda herself,’ she said in a recent interview. [metro-zone-post-strip] She also added that a revelation from Tony (when he admits he’d had an affair with his step-daughter Sinead) have will ‘blow Breda’s mind’ and potentially put him in the firing line. Essentially, absolutely no one is safe in Hollyoaks right now, and you’ll find out very soon just who Breda feels needs her twisted redemption. Bernice has made a number of discoveries (Picture: ITV) Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) in Emmerdale has been hiding something, and Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles) is desperate to find out. After divorcing paedophile teacher Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein) – before she began abusing Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) – he’s fallen for the flame-haired beautician, but has recently begun acting strange. The smartly-dressed doctor’s affair with Bernice began when she was still with hapless Daz (Mark Jordon), but it’s now a fully-fledged relationship. Although they seemed to be on track to becoming a dales power couple, some odd things have been happening recently. For example, Bernice found balaclava in Liam’s bag recently, and has since become convinced that he’s a serial killer. After more grim discoveries – a bloodied shirt and a scalpel – Bernice’s paranoia has been growing, and she’s now certain that he’s going to bump her off. Weirdly, however, it hasn’t stopped her deciding to propose to him. Her sister Nicola King’s (Nicola Wheeler) protestations that something is dodgy aren’t helping, and tonight things really amp up a notch. Liam decides to take Bernice on a road trip, and drives her into the woods. Nicola sees them leave and drags her husband Jimmy (Nick Miles) into a chase situation, fearing that the worst is about to happen. [metro-tag-post-strip] A showdown follows, and it’s clear that Liam is confused as to why Bernice is screaming for her life. That certainly doesn’t mean that he’s off the hook though. Fan rumours are abounding that Liam has murdered his first wife – Lara – who is the mum to his daughter Leanna. As her cause of death hasn’t been discussed, it’s a conclusion that those watching have come to. Tonight, though, the truth will finally be revealed. (Picture: ITV) Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles) is in for the ride of her life in Emmerdale tonight – or could it be the ride of her death? Convinced that her boyfriend Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) is secretly a murderer after finding a series of suspect equipment such as balaclavas and bloody scalpels, Bernice is living in terror. Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) hasn’t exactly helped matters by stoking the fire dramatically and the sisters, bereft of logic, have now convinced themselves that Bernice is shacked up with a dashing doctor of death. However, is everything as it seems? Well, given that Bernice will soon be proposing to her GP partner, it’s clear she either has developed a fetish for murderers or she has got the wrong end of the stethoscope. Tonight, things take an interesting turn when Bernice is biundled into a car by Liam and driven to the woods. As she screams for her life and begs not to be murdered, Nicola – with the help of an incredulous Jimmy (Nick Miles) – chases after them to save her doomed sister’s life. In the woodland, Liam looms over a screaming Bernice and it’s fair to say that he is stunned by her hysteria. So just what is really going on? And how will Liam react when he discovers that Bernice thinks he is capable of murder? Emmerdale continues on Friday 19th July at 7pm on ITV. [metro-zone-post-strip]

Has Breda McQueen chosen her next victim? (Picture: Channel 4) It looks like Hollyoaks murderer Breda McQueen (played by Moya Brady) will strike again next week as the village braces itself for a killer summer. The resident criminal has a wealth of victims to choose from, ranging from Daren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson), who has been neglecting fatherly duties and Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) and Liam Donovan (Jude McGowan), who’ve been having a steamy affair behind Breda’s son Slyver’s (David Tag) back. But could it be Harry Thompson (Parry Glasspool) who finds himself in a body bag? Or could it be Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard), who confesses his troubled past to her in upcoming scenes? We already know that Breda has a penchant for seeing off bad dads, but it looks like no one is safe this time around. In upcoming scenes, Breda spends a lot of time in the Hutchinson household, with actress Moya explaining that Tony could soon be meeting his maker. ‘Breda has her eye on Tony this week and next because he has revealed his troubled history to her,’ she reveals. ‘She’s totally surprised to hear that he had an affair with his step-daughter Sinead O’Connor that absolutely blown Breda’s mind. ‘At the moment she has her eye on him and he could possibly be in danger.’ The cold-blooded killer also has her eyes on Darren and Moya has explained Breda won’t be more lenient just because he’ll soon be her future son-in-law. ‘If Darren has done wrong, then Breda would think they’re all better off without him,’ she warned. ‘It would hurt the family initially but Breda would think that that ultimately it would be a better life for everybody if he was just disposal. That is the way she thinks.’ [metro-tag-post-strip] But of course, not a single resident in Hollyoaks is safe with Breda knocking about – and she’s got a number of people on her radar. ‘I think Harry better step up because there is a new born baby, which was brought in to this world by Breda herself,’ Moya teased. ‘Mercedes is very much in danger as she has been behaving very badly and Sylver really doesn’t deserve it, so she better watch herself. Pretty much everybody better watch themselves.’ Only time will tell who’ll find themselves next on Breda’s victim list… [metro-fact-box id=”7022752″ title=”Got a showbiz story?” icon=”exclamation” /] [metro-link url=”https://metro.co.uk/2019/07/18/hollyoaks-spoilers-parry-glasspool-warns-jarry-fans-of-disaster-for-harry-thompson-and-james-nightingale-10414900/” title=”Hollyoaks spoilers: Parry Glasspool warns Jarry fans of disaster for Harry Thompson and James Nightingale”] [metro-link url=”https://metro.co.uk/2019/07/16/12-soap-spoiler-pictures-maxs-shock-eastenders-romance-coronation-street-sex-scandal-emmerdale-love-cheat-hollyoaks-discovery-10122627/” title=”12 soap spoiler pictures: Max’s shock EastEnders romance, Coronation Street sex scandal, Emmerdale love cheat, Hollyoaks discovery”]

Harry holds his newborn son – for the last time? (Picture: Hollyoaks) The troubles for Harry Thompson (Parry Glasspool) don’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon, with the new father seemingly out of options in this week’s Hollyoaks. With Jarry fans already on edge of what’s going on with Harry and James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan), this isn’t a good sign. In turn, James’ suspicions reach new levels when he drugs his boyfriend once again, making him miss his court hearing. When Harry confronts James about his actions, he coldly tells Harry to leave the village – there’s no way he’ll be found innocent now, according to James. There is no way Harry wants to go to prison for a crime he didn’t commit, so what’s he to do? With his options running out, Harry packs his bags and goes to see his newborn son one last time. However, of course all is not done and dusted that easily and as he goes to leave he overhears some shocking information. Harry’s options are running out (Picture: Lime Pictures) What’s it all about? Moya Brady, who plays Breda McQueen, said in an interview Harry was on her radar, adding he ‘better step up’ amid the current situation he’s facing. ‘Well I think Harry better step up because there is a new born baby, which was brought in to this world by Breda herself,’ she said in a recent interview. ‘Mercedes is very much in danger as she has been behaving very badly and Sylver really doesn’t deserve it, so she better watch herself. Pretty much everybody better watch themselves.’ This week Parry told Metro.co.uk he was keen to prepare fans of his relationship with James for a rough ride ahead. Well that’s ominous. He said: ‘They’ve been through a lot, I won’t lie. Can you go back from James drugging him twice? I think people in soap have come through stuff like that so it’s a possibility. But also, Harry has been warming again to Ste – whether he was just caught in the moment, we don’t know. Will he forgive James? It’s hard to tell really! [metro-tag-post-strip] ‘If they split, the Jarry fans won’t be happy but the Starry fans will be delighted I’m sure! It has to be for a good reason – if they split and it just happens, then they won’t be happy with that as it won’t make sense. I think it’s understandable what happens but fans might be annoyed that it’s come to this.’ Asked which ship he prefers, Parry laughed: ‘I can’t divulge, I feel I’d get attacked by one side or the other – it’s like the Montagues and the Capulets. They should all just come together and love Harry!’ Hollyoaks begins a brand new week every Friday on E4.
