UFO DAYS

By Ashley Steinbrink. Reposted from Whoonew Imagine if you spotted a UFO or had a run-in with an extraterrestrial. Would you tell anyone what happened, or would you keep your mouth shut so nobody called you crazy in the head? On Monday June seventeenth two-thousand nineteen, I went to Oakcrest camp for girls! Me and my best friend, Kymee, packed up and left early Monday morning. We hopped on a huge bus (that had really soft comfy seats and big windows and arm rests) and were off for a new adventure! I got to camp […]

For most of my life I’ve spent an inordinate amount of time squishing myself down, trying to fit into a box. Trying to be whoever you wanted me to be. If I could only be polite enough, nice enough, kind enough, perfect enough, then everyone would have to love me. These thoughts were subconscious, but […]

Ouch! Nicki Minaj is definitely not a fan of Miley Cyrus. Just weeks after the former Hannah Montana star referenced the rapper in her new song, Nicki has fired back. And boy, was it harsh. Not only did the brunette beauty slam the singer for her comment, but she also compared her to a legit piece of chicken. Um, ouch. In case you missed it, Miley dropped a brand new EP called She Is Coming in the beginning of the month. One of her new songs, “Cattitude,” had the line which said, “I love you Nicki, but I listen to Cardi.” And although the 26-year-old explained in an interview that she’s a fan of both Nicki and Cardi B, Nicki just made it clear that she’s not happy with the lyrics. “A Perdue chicken can never talk s–t about queens,” the 36-year-old said during a recent episode of her Apple Beats 1 show, Queen Radio. “But I do notice a lot of Perdue chickens recently have been trying to say the queen’s name for clout. And that’s always been happening. That’s what [Miley] did in the first place. And then the white girl cried and made the black girl seem like she was a bad guy. In the first place, she disrespected me in a magazine article for no reason.” As fans know, the ladies’ feud actually dates all the way back to 2015, when the “Wrecking Ball” songstress called Nicki “not too kind” in an interview with the New York Times. The “Super Bass” singer also made a reference to Miley’s recent episode of Black Mirror. In the show, Miley played a pop star named Ashley O and she wore a bright pink wig for the role. “Now you comin’ out with pink wigs, all you b—hes want to be Nicki. This is the problem,” Nicki added. Since they’re both two of our favorite artists, we’re hoping they can put the drama behind them soon!

Be yourself; Everyone else is already taken. — Oscar Wilde. How do you curate a life of travel? This is a question I have been asking myself (and, I’ll admit, Google) since I was in high school. It’s taken hard work, research, commitment (and to start out with, about a million hours of babysitting) to […]

Before Halsey (real name: Ashley Nicolette Frangipane) made it in the music industry, her life was pretty hard as she tried to make ends meet to survive, which included sleeping with random people. When the 24-year-old first talked about having sex with men in exchange for a place to sleep in April, “it of course turns into this hyperbolized fantasy of ‘Halsey the Hooker,’” she said in a new interview with Rolling Stone magazine. “I didn’t have a pimp, no one was handing me money. But I was definitely dating dudes I wasn’t into because I could crash at their apartment. I was having sex as a means of survival. I’m lucky that that’s all it was for me; for other women I knew, it wasn’t just that. That’s the point I was trying to make.” The “Without Me” crooner also got candid about her bipolar disorder and how she was sexually abused by a family friend when she was a child and was also sexually assaulted a couple of years ago. “Here’s what’s f—ked up to me,” she said. “A young man seeks success and power so that he can use it to control people, and a young woman seeks success and power so that she no longer has to worry about being controlled. It’s an illusion, a f—king lie. There is no amount of success or notoriety that makes you safe when you’re a woman. None.” View this post on Instagram 🗽cue bored as sheeeeet vine A post shared by halsey (@iamhalsey) on May 22, 2019 at 9:37am PDT After Halsey confronted her recent sexual abuser, she felt relieved, but does not want to be remembered this way forever. “Then I’m not ‘Grammy-nominated pop star,’ then I’m ‘rape survivor,’” she said. “Uh-uh, no. Uh-uh, absolutely not. I have worked way too f—king hard to be quantified or categorized by something like that.” The New Jersey native also touched upon how she was “committed twice” since she became Halsey. “It’s been my choice,” she confessed. “I’ve said to [my manager], ‘Hey, I’m not going to do anything bad right now, but I’m getting the point where I’m scared that I might, so I need to go figure this out.’ It’s still happening in my body. I just know when to get in front of it.” The Grammy nominee previously revealed her struggles when she was a homeless teenager living on the streets of New York City. “When I was living in New York, I was a teenager. My friends were picking out decorations for their dorms, and I was debating on whether or not I should let a stranger inside of me, so I could pay for my next meal,” she said during a speech at the Ending Youth Homelessness: A Benefit for My Friend’s Place in Hollywood. It wasn’t because something was wrong with me, and it wasn’t because my parents didn’t love — because they did very much. But a series of unfortunate circumstances led me to be in that position, and it can happen to absolutely anyone.” We applaud your honesty, girl!
