Faye Mooney, 29, was shot dead in Kaduna (Picture: Faye Mooney/YouTube) A British woman has been murdered in Nigeria during a kidnapping at a party. Aid worker Faye Mooney, 29, had travelled from Lagos to the northern city of Kaduna as a tourist when was shot dead late on April 19. [metro-zone-post-thumbnail-link] It is understood the kidnappers also killed a Nigerian man and abducted three others. The British High Commission said they were aware of the murder but could not speculate on the motive or nature of the attack. There has been no claim of responsibility for the incident and the kidnappers have yet to be identified, police said. Ms Mooney, originally from Manchester, had been employed in Nigeria by a non-governmental organisation called Mercy Corps since 2017. [metro-zone-post-thumbnail-link] Neal Keny-Guyer, Chief Executive Officer of Mercy Corps said that they were ‘heartbroken’ by her death, calling communications and learning specialist Ms Mooney ‘dedicated and passionate’.
