Here are some of my Instagram photographs taken outside of the classroom.  Summer rocks!  So grateful for time off of work, for time to enjoy the sunshine.  And for time to bask in the creation of art, and in the appreciation of it. #blessed ❤

Summer is a time where time doesn’t matter to me.  I get up when I want.  I do what I want.  It is not slow or fast motion.  It is pure bliss.  Today was a bit wonky in that it was cloudy-ish – it rained last night and seemed like an indoor-all-day kind of day.  […]

The five pieces that make up this whimsical installation by Abraham Ferraro of Albany, New York, are the reason children grow up to be artists.  (What kid didn’t have a sticker collection in the ’80s – am I right, people?)  Arrows wrapped in brightly colored postal tape direct viewers towards this behemoth labyrinth of recycled […]

Orange County Register
A BCBGMAXAZRIA factory store has opened at The Outlets at Orange. Mall operators tell us it’s the first and only factory store in the Orange County market for the retail brand. The store is between Aeropostale and the Ann Taylor factory store. The outdoor mall has seen some changes in recent months. In February the popular tapas restaurant Tu Tu Tango shuttered after 21 years in operation. A Columbia Sportswear store will take its place this fall. Construction work is ongoing now at the site near the AMC theaters. New food also came to the retail center. Panda Express replaced Twin Dragon, and a combined Auntie Anne’s and Cinnabon also opened. More than 10 stores at the retail center, which is owned by Mills Corp. and Simon Property Group, were recently updated, including AEO, Off Broadway Shoes and Wetzel’s Pretzels. Mobile pet shops grow into stores The local owners of two local Pet Wants mobile businesses have expanded into brick-and-mortar locations in Brea and Lake Forest. Othman Fadeel, the owner of Pet Wants OC North, and Shannon Weel, owner of Pet Wants OC South, hosted grand opening celebrations at their stores Saturday, June 22. The franchise sells private-label pet food formulas made in small batches with fresh ingredients, vitamins and minerals. Pet Wants offers multiple blends of dog and cat food as well as treats, salves, calming balm, anti-itch spray, paw wax and more. Pet Wants OC North: 788 N. Brea Blvd.; regular hours: Monday – Saturday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 7 p.m. Phone: 714-900-0273. Website: PetWantsOCNorth.com Fadeel opened Pet Wants OC North in October of 2018 and has been operating a Pet Wants kiosk in downtown Brea. Pet Wants OC South: 21731 Lake Forest Drive, Suite 101; regular hours: Monday-Friday: 10-7 p.m., Saturday-Sunday: noon to 6 p.m. Phone: 949-215-1461. Website: petwants.com/ocsouth Weel launched Pet Wants OC South in November of 2018 and has been selling Pet Wants products at local events. Wooden Floor expansion Santa Ana-based The Wooden Floor, a nonprofit youth development organization, will open a third location within Depot at Santiago community. The newest location is part of Phase Two of the Lift campaign for The Wooden Floor, a four-year campaign to raise $27.2 million by 2020. The new 8,000-square-foot space will have a dance studio, dance lab, education center, an additional family counseling center and gathering space. C&C Development and Orange Housing Development Corp. originally partnered with The Wooden Floor to open the first location within Depot at Santiago in 2018. Plans for a second studio within the same housing community soon followed to meet additional demand from the community. For more information on the campaign, go to liftcampaign.org. Franchise expansion Irvine-based Xponential Fitness has signed a franchise agreement in the Middle East. A master franchise agreement for Saudi Arabia will bring more than 50 Xponential Fitness studios to the country over the next three years, according to the company. Brands included in the development agreement are Club Pilates, Pure Barre, CycleBar, YogaSix and AKT. Xponential said the studios slated to open in Saudi Arabia will be female-only, in order to serve the growing population of women seeking fitness options in the wake of the country’s recent reforms. The Saudi Arabian development will be led by Sultan and Mohammed Alhokair, owners of the newly-established First Agility Company. The Xponential Fitness expansion will begin with a five-brand flagship location in Riyadh, expected to open in October 2019. One the move Irvine-based Kareo, a provider of cloud-based software for independent medical practices, has hired industry veterans David Justus as its chief financial officer and appointed Scott Maxwell and David Cozzens to its board. Justus has some 20 years of finance, strategic, and operations experience, including 15 years in CFO roles at Avetta and The Retail Equation. Maxwell is senior managing director of OpenView Venture Partners. Cozzens is a technology executive who previously was CEO of Telogis.
