Viewers were outraged at Yolanda’s comments (Picture: Bravo/Youtube) Gigi and Bella Hadid’s mum Yolanda is facing major backlash for her comments in an unearthed video, including telling her eldest daughter to ‘get back on your diet.’ It’s all incredibly awkward The clip, released by Bravo as a nostalgia trip for Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills fans, shows Yolanda alongside her young daughters in the reality TV show – but a lot of her comments definitely haven’t aged well. After Gigi is seen telling her mum she doesn’t want to stop playing volleyball, Yolanda replies: ‘Volleyball is a very masculine sport. Modeling is a very feminine thing.’ She added: ‘These girls, they train four hours a day after school so their bodies are big and bulky, and they eat like men. I wanted [Gigi] to develop as a woman.’ Meanwhile, with the now 23-year-old expressing how excited she was for the food at her birthday party, her mum told her: ‘You can have one night of being bad, right? And then you’ve got to get back on your diet though. ‘Because, you know, in Paris and Milan they like the girls just a tad on the skinny side.’ Later, the now 55-year-old made the bizarre remark that Gigi was ‘bred for this [modelling],’ before only letting her daughter have a slither of her own birthday cake. Viewers were outraged by Yolanda’s comments, with one writing: ‘She didn’t let her daughter have one normal piece of cake for her fricking birthday. im amused.’ Gigi and her mum had an uncomfortable discussion about volleyball (Picture: Bravo/Youtube) Another added: ‘YIKES… those comments Yolanda was making about volleyball & looking masculine & all that ….’ ‘Yolanda shoving gender roles down her daughters throats… so sad,’ one more lamented. Back in January, Mama Hadid also defended her daughters against claims that they use Botox and fillers. Mama Hadid made sure her daughter didn’t have too much cake (Picture: Bravo/Youtube) Sharing a snap of herself in lingerie, the 55-year-old gave us some serious angles as she gave herself a round of snaps. ‘Fifty Five and smiling from the inside out…. Finally back to the original 1964,’ she wrote earlier this month. ‘Living in a body free of breast implants, fillers, botox, exstensions and all the bullshit I thought I needed in order to keep up with what society conditioned me to believe what a sexy woman should look like until the toxicity of it all almost killed me (sic).’ [metro-tag-post-strip] One punter took the comments section and wrote: ‘I agree with you but what about your daughters? Especially Bella? She is beautiful but must use fillers? And she is in the business so how do you rationalise that?’ ‘None of my children have never [sic] done fillers or Botox or put anything foreign in their bodies,’ she hit back. ‘They know better after seeing what I went through.’ [metro-fact-box id=”7022752″ title=”Got a showbiz story?” icon=”exclamation” /] [metro-link url=”https://metro.co.uk/2019/04/05/zayn-malik-defends-girlfriend-gigi-hadid-expletive-filled-rant-amazing-woman-9119806/” title=”Zayn Malik defends girlfriend Gigi Hadid in expletive-filled rant: ‘She’s the most amazing woman’”] [metro-link url=”https://metro.co.uk/2019/03/28/gigi-hadid-rages-negative-mean-fans-troll-looks-9053463/” title=”Gigi Hadid rages at ‘negative and mean’ fans after they troll her looks”]

Diversity is a hot buzzword right now. It is encompassing all industries from technology to Wall Street. In fashion, diversity is also seeing its “air time” as consumers are demanding more diversity in skin color, body type, gender, and sexuality from the brands and designers who create our clothing. I remember an article from October […]

Natasha Oakley and Devin Brugman Bathing beauties! Instagram stars Natasha Oakley and Devin Brugman are known for flaunting their fabulous figures on social media throughout their travels and modeling gigs, and since the two women are constantly donning swimsuits and encouraging their followers to lead a body-positive lifestyle, they decided to create their own line called Monday Swimwear. “I really feel the most confident and sexiest when I’m on the beach, happy and relaxed in comfortable swimwear. Our brand was inspired by this feeling and we wanted other women to experience it,” Brugman told Stylish. [ami-related id=”1412934″ url=”https://www.usmagazine.com/?p=1412934″ title=”The Best Celebrity Beach Bodies of 2019: Stars in the Cutest, Trendiest Bikinis and Swimsuits” target=”_blank” inset=”false”] And plenty of celebs have gotten to: It-girls like Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, Olivia Culpo and Romee Strijd have all been spotted rocking their suits. Natasha Oakley and Devin Brugman “Celebrities are busy and constantly being put in uncomfortable situations, so I think they really appreciate anything that will make them feel comfortable and confident,” Oakley said. Their key tip for nailing it with all their designs? Keeping the female figure in mind. “We draw our inspiration from the amazing women that we meet and our travels. …The silhouettes we design are inspired by women, what will flatter them, what women that we love ask for and what we love and feel good in ourselves,” she continued. Some suit styles they’re into right now? Brugman can’t get enough of animal print and high-waisted bottoms and Oakley is all about underwire tops, both featured in their new spring 2019 collection. [ami-related id=”1207672″ url=”https://www.usmagazine.com/?p=1207672″ title=”Your Guide to the Hottest Bikinis That Celebs Have Worn ” target=”_blank” inset=”false”] Regardless of your personal preferences, all of their suits are made to look good on every body type. “No two people fit into the same mold, so no two people should be expected to wear a suit that can only be worn one way,” Oakley explained. “Having a larger bust, I struggled with body confidence issues when I was younger and finding flattering clothing, swimwear and even bras was a daily struggle for me,” Brugman told Stylish. “My journey with body confidence took time, but through my work and inspiring others, I have learned to rock what I’ve got with style and grace.” Natasha Oakley and Devin Brugman If they’re ever having a day where they need an extra confidence boost, they lean on each other for support. “We both have our days when we don’t feel our best, but we just feel grateful to be happy and healthy and try not to sweat the small stuff. Life’s too short to obsess over imperfections. After all, everyone has them!,” Oakley said. “We’re constantly goofing around and it makes our friendship and work so much fun,” Brugman dished. “Don’t get me wrong, we know how to be serious when needed, but I think it’s really important to have fun and try to stay positive throughout any tough times.” Some of their go-to pick-me-ups for curing a bad day? “We are both obsessed with My Hot Pilates and Body by Gilles. We also eat healthy, stay hydrated, and don’t really like to go out or drink,” Oakley revealed. [ami-related id=”1229483″ url=”https://www.usmagazine.com/?p=1229483″ title=”8 String and Square-Neck Bikinis Inspired by Kim Kardashian’s Teeny Tiny Turks and Caicos Vacay Swimwear” target=”_blank” inset=”false”] And that makes hitting the beach and taking the perfect bikini Instagram photo even easier for them (along with good lighting.) “Remember to stand tall and elongate your body,” Oakley recommended. “Think of the ‘90s supermodels and how they posed before editing came along. … Make sure your photos are front lit and are taken in the morning or afternoon when the light is most flattering and eliminates a lot of the imperfections that the camera loves to pick up!” “Little things like keeping your toes pointed or keeping arms held slightly away from your waist can make the world of a difference,” Brugman added.
