Heidi's Helpful Hints

I recently begin reading the book “Furiously Happy” Written by Jenny Lawson. It is a Hilarious book that totally is changing my mindset. It is making me realize that life isn’t gonna go my way, and that’s fine. It is making me want to do things I never wanted to do. I am making bold […]

Art Bead Scene’s Art Journey Two is about to end, and I’ve just managed to slide in under the wire! This Journey has focused on the illustrations of Virginia Frances Sterrett, an American artist whose short career illustrating fairy tales flourished during 1920s. Sadly she died of tuberculosis in 1931. Art Bead Scene selected three […]

Grace and Recovery

*graphic* I was told it was my fault, and I believed them. I didn’t think I had a right to think otherwise.  My name is Amy and I am a rape survivor.  See, on a warm summer night about two years ago, during my first attempt to get sober, after having three months clean, I […]

IN my house, Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler have the pulling power of the Kardashians. My two girls, aged three and six, have got all the books, the CDs, we’ve watched the BBC adaptations at Christmas way too many times, and we’ve been on the Gruffalo ride at Chessington more than is necessary, too. Room On The Broom – The Magical Journey has arrived at Chessington World of Adventures Resort So news that the Surrey theme park was launching Room On The Broom – The Magical Journey, was quite possibly the best thing we’d heard since we discovered Zog had a sequel. And the experience really didn’t disappoint. One for the younger ones, it’s a gentle walk-through “experience” rather than the usual jump-on, jump-off rides, where parents and children are encouraged to find the Witch’s hat, bow and wand blown off by the stormy winds. Staying true to the book, each step of the way you meet the loveable Cat, Dog, Bird and Frog and, as a group, you complete an easy mission to open the way into the next enticing assignment. Kids will love the mix of computer action and traditional family friendly figurines with bubbling cauldrons and a not-so-scary Dragon It’s a gentle walk-through ‘experience’ here parents and children are encouraged to find the Witch’s hat, bow and wand blown off by the stormy winds [article-rail-section title=”MOST READ IN TRAVEL” posts_category=”1″ posts_number=”6″ query_type=”popular” /] Both of my girls absolutely loved the mix of computer action and traditional family friendly figurines with bubbling cauldrons and a not-so-scary Dragon. My three-year-old especially could immerse herself in a ride without feeling out of her depth. It’s safe to say Room On The Broom, alongside the Gruffalo River Ride Adventure, is a wonderful return to the magical, green, and mellow world of Donaldson and Scheffler. Tickets are from £29.50 at chessington.com. Musings and Ravings

As mentioned in this post on March 17th, I promised to post some pics from the John Carter of Mars RPG books that came my way. So let’s get started. Here’s the exterior front cover of the main rulebook for the game. Here’s the interior frontispiece of the main rulebook, showing the northern hemisphere of […]

I guess I really am different from everybody else that you know. I’m goofy, silly, annoying, and always managing to see things differently. I always say the first things that come to my mind. I am a superhero loving nerd. I enjoy working on assignments because the end results make me happy. I’m sensitive, I […]

WASHINGTON — The manila envelope in her hand held a single sheet of paper. Wearing a black puffer coat, the woman and her delivery were so unassuming in appearance that she was able to quietly slip past the crowd of reporters gathered in the hallways of the Rayburn House Office Building. Without being noticed, she […]
