With no Premier League football this weekend, we’ll have to make do with the warm embrace of the FA Cup instead. Man City’s trip to Newport is perhaps the most intriguing of the fifth round fixtures, while the box office clash between Chelsea and Man United on Monday is the one all the neutrals will be tuning into. There’s slim pickings for Weekender, but it’s well worth your time nonetheless.  [boxout headline=”Play the easiest fantasy football game around” featured-image=”440710″] Dream Team Weekender refreshes every weekend Simply pick 7 players with no budget limitations You can win £5k this weekend – and it’s free to enter SIGN UP TO PLAY DREAM TEAM WEEKENDER NOW [/boxout] YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO – SIGN UP AND WIN £5k EVERY WEEKEND BY PLAYING DREAM TEAM WEEKENDER As for the season game, any transfers you want to make will need to be made BEFORE Watford’s trip to QPR this evening. But don’t panic, as we’ve got some hot tips to help you through. 1 Danilo (Man City): £3.8m You’re up Pep Guardiola will likely select a slightly weakened side for Man City’s trip to Newport, so seldom-seen Brazilian full-back Danilo will probably get a bit of a run out. And with Benjamin Mendy’s injury problems, he might even be worth considering for your Dream Team for the remainder of the season – especially as City are still competing on multiple fronts. Also, it’s worth remembering that City netted ten times – over both legs – against League One side Burton in the Carabao Cup, so we fancy them to enjoy further success at League Two Newport. 2 Matt Doherty (Wolves): £3.6m Fantasy football favourite Picking Doherty has been one of Dream Team’s worst kept secrets this season, with the Wolves right-back currently the fourth-best defender on the game with 139 points. What’s more, he netted twice in Wolves’ FA Cup fourth round clash against Shrewsbury last time out, picking up 19 Dream Team points in that game alone. Despite being a first-team regular, he will likely be fielded in the game against in-form Championship opponents Bristol City. 3 David Silva (Man City): £5.1m Merlin’s beard It’s often hard to determine which line-up Guardiola will put out game-by-game, such is the strength in depth available to him at City. But David Silva came off the bench in their whipping of Chelsea last weekend, which might suggest he’ll start against Newport on Saturday. He might even get the nod against Schalke during the week too. 4 Gabriel Jesus (Man City): £4.5m What would Pep do? Again, it’s difficult to decide between Jesus and Sergio Aguero for this one, but our Coach is going for Jesus in the Cup and Aguero in the Champions League. Worth noting that the young Brazilian has netted nine times in 2019 so far, including FOUR against Burton in the Carabao Cup. Could be just as hungry this weekend. 5 Romelu Lukaku (Man United): £4.4m Step up With both Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial out injured for Man United for the next couple of weeks, there’ll be extra impetus on Lukaku to step up his game. The big Belgian hasn’t exactly been prolific in recent weeks, but he’s also suffering from the brilliant form of Marcus Rashford. Still, two assists in the win over Arsenal were a definite highlight and showed he does have a place in Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s team, and he may find himself starting in the next couple of games – including the return to Chelsea on Monday. All rational logic points towards a City demolition job of League Two minnows Newport County, right? The temptation is there to pick seven players from Pep Guardiola’s side, but in doing so you run the risk of being left red faced because of City’s rotation policy. Gabriel Jesus will surely get a start over Sergio Aguero… right? Palace should be fairly comfortable away at Doncaster Rovers but might be without talisman Wilfred Zaha due to suspension. Wolves face a tricky test against Championship play-off hopefuls Bristol City but in Matt Doherty have one of the competitions top scorers with three goals. Elsewhere, Brighton are in action against Derby County with Glenn Murray in good form after netting twice against West Brom in the last round. He’s just a goal machine If you need any more incentive we’ve had three first-time winners throughout the season, proving that beginners’ luck and Dream Team Weekender go hand in hand. To be in with a chance of winning our prize don’t forget to enter your side before 12.30 on Saturday – the early kick-off between Brighton and Derby. May the odds be ever in your favour.
