JAMES English has announced he will spend four days in Costa Rica taking hallucinogenic drug ayahuasca for a new documentary. The podcast host will film his experience on the deadly psychoactive. James English is heading to Costa Rica for a documentary on hallucinogenic drug ayahuasca The plant-based drink – also known as yage – is used for medicinal purposes in some tribal ceremonies in South and Central America. English will be working alongside plant-based medicine advocate and news site Educate Inspire Change. And he has admitted he is buzzing for the ‘belter’ of a trip. Posting on social media, he said: “I will be heading to Costa Rica next month to make my next documentary on the plant based medicine called ayahuasca. An Imperial College London study found DMT – the main psychoactive compound in ayahuasca – was the ‘closest thing to dying’ a person could experience. A British teen died after taking the drug during a Colombian tribal ritual.
