MCDONALD’s customers fled after a car burst into flames at a drive-thru in Elgin. Part of the building was damaged but nobody was hurt in the blaze. The car caught fire Scottish Fire and Rescue crews blame an electrical fault with the motor, which was wrecked in the fire late on Saturday night. Customers were ordering meals in the store before being alerted to the inferno burning just yards away outside. Last night, cops revealed an electrical fault had caused the blaze, and confirmed nobody had been hurt. Nobody was hurt in the incident Crowds gathered in the car park as the flames burst through the vehicle, extensively damaging the wall of McDonald’s. One witness said: “I don’t know how nobody got hurt. Despite the fire, the restaurant reopened again yesterday evening although the drive-thru remained closed due to the damage caused to the building. Yesterday morning the site was taped off ahead of a clean-up operation while parts of the takeaway shelter hung off the roof after being subjected to the intense heat. A police spokesman said: “We were alerted to the incident by the fire service at about 11pm on Saturday. “The A96 was closed to traffic at KFC, the premises was evacuated, nobody required medical attention. OUTGOING Celtic defender Dedryck Boyata is ‘world class’ according to his new Hertha Berlin team-mate Karim Rekik. LEWIS MORGAN’S agent has rubbished claims WhatsApp messages from the Celtic star explain Rafa Benitez rejected the Parkhead job because of “abuse headlines”. The screenshot appeared on social media yesterday with one user fuelling speculation that the messages were from Hoops winger Morgan. Asked if Lenny was the right man though, the mystery messages, read: “Won’t make much difference to myself mate I’ll be down here another season anyone, but got told last week that Rafa had the job.” Lewis Morgan’s agent replied to the claims on Twitter HAPPY BHOYS Celtic star Kieran Tierney reunited with best pal Man City ace Patrick Roberts The second message, said: “Few of the boys said that his agent caught wind of all the abuse headlines in the media recently and told him to avoid it like the plague.” Hassall replied to the tweet saying: “I can confirm as the agent of Lewis Morgan that this is 100% a fake account and nothing to do with him, it’s an absolute load of rubbish.” Rafa had been strongly linked with the Hoops but the club announced shortly after the Scottish Cup Final that Neil Lennon has been offered the job.
