Christmas Gifts

The Words & Madness of Chloe Stowe

When I first went ‘crazy,’ I was living in a cement-block apartment on the campus of Auburn University.

There was a kitchen. The only thing I ‘knew’ how to make were scrambled eggs. I made them, perhaps, three times in my nearly two years there…

I can no longer make scrambled eggs.

I can eat them, but I can’t make them.

Since those dark days at Auburn, I have catered weddings and Christmas parties, showered gourmet gifts on kith and kin.

But I can’t make scrambled eggs.

I tried again yesterday and failed.

I don’t understand me much.

Somedays, I don’t think I want to.

Until tomorrow…

Thursday the 10th January 2019. An insignificant little day in itself. Christmas has been and gone, the New Year has been welcomed in and everyone considers doing Dry January until they realise how miserable the weather is and reach for the nearest bottle of wine. To me, however, this date marked the official start of […]

I tend not to buy much stuff, really, as I hate spending money and I have no where to put new stuff. I live in a shoebox! That being said, I’ve gained a few items of late because of Christmas and just plain wanting. I figured why not share them with you? Foam Rollers I […]

Since I was a kid, I’ve always been a voracious reader. I remember when the green Bookmobile would come to my block in the summertime and I would hustle across the street to load up on Baby Sitter’s Club, Beverly Cleary, and Madeline L’Engle. That tradition has continued throughout my life, and I’ve been doing […]

Ripples look great if it’s water splashing against a sandy beach, not so much if they are in your carpet. So tomorrow, we have guys coming over to stretch our upstairs carpet and get rid of the waves; sounds easy enough..right? Well our place this morning looks like a bomb went off. There is stuff […]

Just a short one about a few of my favourite places I think are worth visiting in Newcastle. I’ve lived in Newcastle for almost 3 years now so it seems time for me to write a post about all the places worth visiting whilst you’re there. ‘It’s better late than never’ seems to be my […]
