(Picture: BBC) EastEnders’ Bex Fowler (Jasmine Armfield) decides to turn to drugs to help her through uni but after Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) discovers her stash, she’s in big trouble. Bex decided to drop out of uni as she began to struggle with revising and keeping up with her course work, but after learning how hard Martin (James Bye) was working to earn enough money to keep her there, she realised she had to come up with another plan. A chance meeting with a girl named Ellie gave her an idea, after Ellie revealed she took her brother’s medication to help her stay awake. Bex ordered her own drugs online, but was caught out when they fell out of her bag, in front of Kush. Kush is left furious when she tells him she plans to sell the drugs to make money, but he has no idea she really intends to take them herself. After making her see sense, she begs him to keep her secret. But will she really listen to what he’s said? Later while in the Vic he buys Kat a drink and asks for some advice, torn over Bex’s request. Will he keep her secret? Could it be what brings them even closer? [metro-zone-post-strip]

(Picture: BBC) Bex Fowler (Jasmine Armfield) is about to find her life spiralling dramatically out of control in EastEnders in the wake of her decision to start taking ADHD drugs to try and stay calm amid all of the stress around her exams and the pressures from her parents about attending university. After Bex was approached with the idea by a fellow student, she ordered some of the medication and when she started taking it, she seemed wired – especially when she combined it with alcohol. As she headed to the Queen Vic and ordered a drink, she spied Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) and Callum Highway (Tony Clay) heading out to E20 and downed her drink in one go before following them. As she headed to E20, Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) could see that she was out of sorts as she slurred and shouted about having a party. As she queued to get into the club, he confronted her but she coldly asked him why he would even care, referring to his recent rejection when she tried to kiss him. Inside the bar, she ordered a large vodka and the combination of the booze and the drugs was clearly affecting her. When Kush had a change of heart and decided he needed to go in and help her out of this situation, she was glad he turned up and offered to buy him a drink. (Picture: BBC) But as he tried to persuade her to go home, she scraffled in her bag for money and a blister pack of the pills fell to the floor. She looked frozen to the spot as a concerned Kush clocked them but will he realise what she is using them for and how much danger she is in? And will he agree to keep quiet to Martin (James Bye) and Sonia (Natalie Cassidy) about them? Scenes being filmed recently show that this is just the start for Bex, who ends up in a severe situation as her reliance on the pills threatens to wreck her life. [metro-zone-post-strip]

(Picture: BBC/Metro.co.uk) It looks like Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) and Denise Fox (Diane Parish) could soon be distant memories for EastEnders characters Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) and Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) as they will start to grow closer in upcoming episodes leading to sparks flying. It’s not the first time that Kat has cast an approving eye over Kush in the past but this week, with Kush confiding in Kat about his tricky situation and her offering her wordly advice, they get to know each other a little better. Tonight, the first seeds of a potential romance are planted and they are thrown together once more thanks to the drunk antics of Mo Harris (Laila Morse), Kush’s current troublesome lodger. When Kush arrives home to find Kat getting her sozzled nan into bed, she and Kush are then left alone. But where could this possibly be leading? As Kat makes it known she fancies Kush, will she make a move and will he reciprocate? Confused Bex Fowler (Jasmine Armfield) is also harbouring a crush on older man Kush while Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) wasted no time in checking him out while he was stretching ahead of a run. This is a guy in demand. If she gets her claws into him, will she be the Kat that gets her cream? [metro-zone-post-strip]

Aside from all of the high octane stuff though, Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton) celebrates good news while Mo Harris (Laila Morse) gets p*ssed and it’s down to Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) and Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) to step in. (Picture: ISO Images) EastEnders is preparing to air some dark scenes for troubled teenager Bex Fowler (Jasmine Armfield) after her life continues to spiral out of control – leading to her being left devastated. At the moment, fans are seeing the pressure mount on Bex ahead of her exams and amid her confused feelings for Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami). As the tension on her mounts, parents Martin and Sonia (James Bye and Natalie Cassidy) will be oblivious to exactly what their daughter is going through. Scenes have already been revealed of Bex in a strained argument with a newcomer outside a university open day and things from there just get even worse. Jasmine has been filming scenes on location which show Bex disheveled and in tears as she wanders the streets alone. It seems that she has run away from home – but is EastEnders lining up a homelessness storyline for her? We can’t reveal what gets Bex to this stage but a TV source promised us dramatic scenes for Bex. They whispered to Metro.co.uk: ‘Bex has been surrounded by pressure and ever since the death of Shakil, things have been slowly overwhelming her. We will see her lose absolute control of her life and this turmoil could just be the beginning. ‘Bex is out of control and she needs serious help. For too long people haven’t noticed what this pressure could lead to – and it could be too late…’ (Picture: ISO Images) The scenes show a stranger approach Bex and it seems that he is checking on her to see if she is okay. But as she runs away crying and clearly terrified, has he threatened or attacked her in some way? And can Bex get home safe? There are a number of theories that could lead Bex to this dark place – has she been rejected by Kush or lost out on a place at university? Is her new found friend more trouble than she is worth and has got her into serious trouble? (Picture: ISO Images) Or has Bex stumbled across a massive Game Of Thrones finale spoiler ahead of the episode transmission? These scenes are likely to coincide with Game Of Thrones ending so maybe she is just a major fan who can’t cope with no longer having a fix of Westeros. Can relate. Whatever the situation though, things are going to get worse before they get better for Bex – and an emotional rollercoaster awaits both for her and for viewers. [metro-zone-post-strip]

Later, he offers to have CCTV installed but she snaps and then goes to Phil for her cut of the money. (Picture: BBC) The simmering tension between Bex Fowler (Jasmine Armfield) and Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) could be set to fire up again following their recent kiss in EastEnders – as they find themselves flung together once again despite trying to avoid each other. After Bex felt she had made a fool of herself and Kush felt like he couldn’t be around her due to her being Martin’s (James Bye) daughter, it seemed like a romance wouldn’t be on the cards. But has fate got other plans? As Bex makes the decision that she doesn’t want to go to university, she is stunned when she learns that Martin has taken shifts at the chip shop to help cover the fees. As she feels pressured into it, Martin is keen for her to be smart for her Oxford Exchange Day and he ropes Kush into picking Bex a dress from his stall, which leads to more awkward moments. As the pressure starts to get to Bex about her education, she takes risky action and when she still fails a test, Martin thinks she needs to let her hair down and gives her money for a night out. As Bex then gets drunk while out, Kush is concerned and checks up on her – but will Bex make a move on him? And how will he respond? One to watch: Friday 20th April at 8pm on BBC One. (Picture: BBC/Metro.co.uk) With screaming and shouting a common practice among its countless residents, there’s no such thing as a quiet day in Walford. Whether it be problems at the Queen Vic for Mick (Danny Dyer) and Linda (Kellie Bright), or family fallouts over at the Taylor gaffe, it really is all go in EastEnders. Yes, Walford is full of colourful characters, all of whom have their own crosses to bear. However, as a result of the sheer madness that goes on — not to mention the amount of folk that currently reside there — quite a few of Albert Square’s finest often miss out on a piece of the action. It’s not uncommon in soaps for one character to take a back seat for the purpose of another’s advancement, but when said character ends up becoming part of the furniture — so much so that you often forget that they’re there — then you’ve got a real problem! Kate Oates‘ tenure as senior executive producer has only just begun, and with the former Corrie and Emmerdale boss ushering in a new era for the London-based soap, here are just a few Walford regulars who deserve a moment in the spotlight moving forward. Shirley Carter Whether you’re a die-hard fan or simply a general viewer, you’ll know that most of EastEnders’ action tends to take place in the Queen Vic. However, in spite of being one of the pub’s current licensees, Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) has been lost for a good storyline for quite a while now. That’s not to say that she hasn’t appeared much — because she has — but most of her appearances tend to focus on her family’s troubles rather than her own. She’s also proven to be a great source of comic relief, but when was the last time that she had a storyline all of her own? Our Shirl deserves more screen time for sure, and it’s about time that she found herself at the centre of good old fashioned feud! She’s had a few bust ups with Sharon (Letitia Dean) in the past, but these two icons have been rather civil to one another in recent years, so perhaps another argument for the pair is out of the question for now. A good clash with the likes of Karen (Lorraine Stanley) certainly wouldn’t go amiss — nor would an argument with Kathy (Gillian Taylforth). The insults would no doubt be glorious in either scenario. Mind you, whoever she faces off against, our money’s on Shirl! Kathy Beale If there’s one thing that Ben Mitchell’s (Max Bowden) return has accomplished, it’s proving that Kathy deserves to be at the centre of the soap more often. She’s been a regular Agatha Christie during this storyline, and viewers have certainly loved seeing her getting involved in Phil’s dodgy dealings. Despite being a key player in many a hard-hitting storyline back in the late ’80s, Kathy hasn’t had that many long-running narratives since her return to the soap back in 2015, so it’s truly been great to see her getting all up in Phil’s face once more. Moving forward, here’s hoping that she’ll feature in more storylines like this one, as the Walford legend tends to fit right in when she’s fighting other people’s battles for them — much like she did for Angie (Anita Dobson) and Pauline (Wendy Richard) back in the early days. What’s more, with Ben back in the fold, there’s plenty of opportunity for her to further develop her relationship with her son. Ted Murray It’s been so long since we’ve seen Ted (Christopher Timothy) that we’re beginning to forget what he looks like! The character jetted off to Australia to visit family last year, and hasn’t been seen since. However, it won’t be long before he’s back on screen, and hopefully he’ll have plenty of stories to keep him busy. Unfortunately, there aren’t that many elderly residents left in Walford, which is why Ted is of great benefit to the soap. Much like Dot (June Brown), he has all the potential to be something of a conscience for the younger residents, dishing out advice whenever they need a friendly ear. Having Ted build a rapport with Bernie (Clair Norris) was a genius move on John Yorke’s part, and hopefully we’ll see this friendship further developed upon the character’s return. Christopher Timothy proved just how great an actor he is when Joyce (Maggie Steed) passed away, so here’s hoping he gets to utilise those chops moving forward. Jay Brown (Picture: BBC) Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) is quite possibly EastEnders’ most under utilised character. Jamie has proven to be a tremendous actor and, considering Jay has been on the Square for many years, it’s rather odd that he hasn’t featured more often. Thankfully, Kate Oates has already started giving Jay more meaty material, what with the character’s romantic interest in Ruby (Louisa Lytton), so hopefully this relationship can be further developed in future episodes. Additionally, the recent return of Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold) could provide for some storylines as well, considering he has a history with her. It’s been a while since we’ve had a proper soap love triangle, so this could work out rather nicely. Mo Harris No matter your mood, you can always be certain that Big Mo (Laila Morse) will put a smile on your face. The Slater matriarch has been in and out of Walford many times, and since returning to the soap early last year, the character has given viewers plenty of reasons to laugh. Having her move in with Kush (Davood Ghadami) was a genius creative decision — and has provided for many laugh-out-loud moments thus far! Here’s hoping that this odd friendship will continue to be developed. It would also be great to see Mo’s softer side for once. She’s great at making us laugh and all, but given that she’s been through some tough times in the past, we know that there’s a tragic side to the character, and it would be nice to see that side of her surface once again. If we’re really lucky, we might even get a rare appearance from Fat Elvis! Callum ‘Halfway’ Highway Walford has been home to many a nice guy before, but there’s never been anyone quite like Callum Highway — aka Halfway (Tony Clay). The well-meaning lad got off to a bit of a rocky start when he first showed up in the Square but, like many before him, he managed to turn his luck around, landing on his feet with a cushy job at the Vic. However, it’s been quite a while since he’s had a significant amount of screen time. The character is full of potential — and has a certain Lofty-esque quality about him — and it would be great to learn a bit more about his past. While we do know a little bit about him, he’s mostly portrayed as someone’s brother, friend or boyfriend. Perhaps it’s time that Callum gets the focus he deserves. You never know, we might even find out why he’s so fond of that hat! [metro-zone-post-strip]

(Picture: BBC) Things seem to be set to get hot and sweaty for Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) in EastEnders, and thankfully it’s not with his lodger Mo Harris (Laila Morse). While Mo might have done her best to tempt the market stool holder with her feminine wiles and her post-shower naked bod, there seems to be another Albert Square dweller who’s caught Kush’s eye. There has been a little spark of romance brewing between Kush and Bex Fowler (Jasmine Armfield) for weeks, having shared a coffee together, and with him coming to her rescue when he thought she was in trouble with Stuart in a somewhat ham-fisted manner. But are their feelings set to develop further than just being pals through her dad Martin Fowler (James Bye)? They might struggle to keep their feelings at bay when Martin unwittingly forces them together in a bid to help his daughter with her course and they end up spending a lot of time one on one. Bex tells Martin she is struggling to concentrate on her studies so he suggests Kush helps her exercise to give her a break, much to Kush’s dismay. She later joins him for a training session and as the two work up a sweat, will they end up giving into their passion? [metro-zone-post-strip]

And no doubt Martin Fowler (James Bye) won’t be too pleased to realise his daughter and his best mate are getting very close. Elsewhere, there’s danger in store for Denny Rickman Jr (Bleu Landau) when he starts getting mixed up in the drugs crowd, with only Tiffany Butcher (Maisie Smith) able to save him. (Picture: ISO Images) EastEnders is lining up harrowing scenes for traumatised teenager Bex Fowler (Jasmine Armfield) as her bottled up grief over Shakil Kazemi’s death leads her down a dark path. The teenager is feeling pressure from all sides right now – with her mixed feelings for older man Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) set to end in heartbreak as well as her best mate Louise Mitchell (Tilly Keeper) not exactly being friendship goals right now, Bex is quietly struggling. As her exams get closer, she isn’t having much success on her practice tests and isn’t even sure that she wants the university life set out for her by ever so slightly pushy parents Sonia (Natalie Cassidy) and Martin (James Bye). Exam stress, grief over her friend, a crush that can only cause awkwardness and an unknown future – no wonder Bex is going to start to crumble and in upcoming scenes filmed on location which see Bex go to a uni open day, she has had enough and breaks down. (Picture: ISO Images) Our TV source whispered to us: ‘This is the beginning of quite the downward spiral for Bex. Being a teenager in the modern world is hard enough as it is and it’s all going to get on top of her in a big way. With choices to make and things not going well for her, she has very few places to turn – and the decisions she goes on to make could be life changing and ones that she will regret.’ Pictures on location show Bex in a fierce argument with another attendee at the open day. The mysterious girl seems to have wound Bex up but is she trying to be a friend or could she be set to exploit her vulnerability? (Picture: ISO Images) Our source whispered: ‘Bex is in a bad place and she needs all the support that she can get. You don’t just get over something like the death or your close friend and boyfriend. And pretty soon all of the pressures on her are going to manifest into something more.’ Can stressed out Bex get through this? Or will things get worse before anyone notices something is wrong? Who’d be a teenager nowadays!? [metro-zone-post-strip]

(Picture: BBC) Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) and Bex Fowler (Jasmine Arrmfield) have been getting closer and closer in recent weeks in EastEnders. When Kush found out about Bex’s anxieties, they began spending more time together, and the teenager helped him when he realised he’d been selling stolen fur coats on his stall. Bex has clearly fallen for Kush, and when they were sat together chatting in E20, it all culminated in a kiss. When they were reminiscing about Shakil, Bex leaned in for the kiss, with Kush recoiling. It’s clear that Kush is many years older than Bex, and viewers have already expressed their worries that this could be a bad move for her. Bex helped Kush with his fur coat problem (Picture: BBC) According to EastEnders Wiki, Kush is 33 years old, and Bex is just 18. That’s a 15 year age gap. Given that her her protective dad Martin (James Bye) is also 33 and friends with Kush, it’s unlikely to be a smooth romance. Not to mention the fact that Bex’s last big storyline also featured an older man in the form of her own teacher Gethin Price. Back in 2017, she shared a kiss with her teacher, creating a scandal on the square. Will her relationship with Kush become the same power imbalanced mess? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure – the person who tells Martin is going to get it in the neck (right before Kush does).
