Robert Williams’ ability to challenge shots, already on the upper tier in the NBA, is now common knowledge, including a career-high five blocks during the Celtics’ 129-108 win over Atlanta last night. He has averaged 3.3 blocks over his last three games. But it’s the rookie’s work behind the scenes that has most impressed Brad Stevens. With Al Horford missing another game due to knee issues last night against Atlanta, Williams’ received another infusion of playing time, and his willingness to ask questions made the choice an easy one for the Celtics coach to make. “He’s got a chance to be a really good player. He does a lot of good things and has a lot of room to grow. That’s the bottom line,” said Stevens. “The athletic ability is incredible. Everybody can see that and that’s what gets everyone excited. He really wants to be good. “Things he didn’t do as well on Wednesday night (in Washington), he’s in working on yesterday before our film session,” he said. “He’s talking to some of the older players about how to handle certain situations after the film session. That’s really good. He wants to be good. He’s worked hard. If he continues that, I don’t see how he’s not successful.” Williams was especially curious about how to play a better role offensively. “Trying to learn how to make things easier for our scorers, as far as screens that I’m setting, when to get out of them, how to get out of them quickly, what angles they need,” he said. “So I feel like me helping them out is opening the floor. “They’re the No. 1 resource. Obviously they’ve been through it all,” he said. “We’ve got  a lot of guys here that have been on playoff teams, championship teams. It’s always good and it’s always the right thing to do to ask them what they prefer, what they need out there. “It’s mandatory learning. It’s not that much time for mistakes or whatever. That’s why I go to those guys and go ahead and ask them what they’re looking for.” The advice he gets in return, naturally, is invaluable. “Yeah, it’s great energy, even if it’s bad criticism or a little tip, it’s energy,” said Williams. “It’s good to hear in my ear, so it’s a positive thing.” As for what is the best advice he’s received so far, Williams said, “Sleep. Get sleep, man. It’s a long, long season. Long season. But definitely the best advice is get sleep.” (BREAK) Williams’ social media-fueled nickname – Time Lord – isn’t exactly his favorite, though it may be too late to change the outcome. “It’s catching on, that’s all I can say,” he said with a disapproving expression. Celtics president Danny Ainge has suggested “Lob Williams,” which is more to the rookie center’s liking. “I can go with Lob Williams over Time Lord. I can do that,” he said. Williams may grow to like the latter idea, though. Timex reached out to him over Twitter, asking for a conversation. “Hey, now that’s a different story. That’s a different story. But it’s definitely sticking,” said Williams. (BREAK) The Celtics are clearly allowing Al Horford to take the gradual path back as he deals with patellar tendinitis in his left knee. Though there apparently is a time frame for the veteran center’s return, Stevens didn’t want to pressure Horford by sharing that information last night. “There’s a target time frame, but we’re not going to really talk about it, because we don’t necessarily want to be quick in this,” the Celtics coach said of Horford, who missed his fourth straight game, and sixth overall last night because of the knee issue. “We have to be right in this. At the end of the day, it’s a few games, then it will be reassessed to make sure he feels 110 percent,” said the Celtics coach. “This is another tough stretch. We have two here tonight and tomorrow, and then we have a couple of days where it’s every other day for five weeks, with one extra day in there at one time. It will be quite a stretch coming up.”

“Ozymandias” by Percy Bysshe Shelley is one of his infamous political poems. A poetic reflection on tyrannical rule, most probably inspired by the decline of Napoleon’s empire at the time. The sonnet’s unconventional rhyme scheme can be digitally uncovered as ABABACDCEDEFEF. Additionally, there is no traditional turn at the end of the second quatrain. Given […]

So why is pride a destructive force? Pride is more than feeling good when we accomplish something great.  Arrogant or conceited pride keeps us from loving others well.  Second, pride prevents us from seeing the sin of thinking more highly of ourselves than we ought.  Last, pride justifies self-centered behavior that erodes relationships.  Not only is pride destructive, […]
