In 2009 I had a newborn, a recently vacated teaching position, and all the slow-rolling expansive days that come with those things. My cell phone could only call, text, and take blurry pictures. I had a first-generation iPod Touch, with a handful of poorly designed word game apps that I would play, in total darkness, […]

MEGHAN Markle is set to grace our screens once again in a racy film where she plays a bed-hopping, drug-snorting party-girl. The Duchess of Sussex may have given up acting to marry Prince Harry, but her 2011 TV show – The Boys & Girls Guide to Getting Down – has been picked up for film distribution in the US. Meghan Markle is set to grace our screens once again in a racy film The Duchess of Sussex gave up acting to marry Prince Harry The tongue-in-cheek show follows 20-something singles clubbing and partying in LA over the course of a single night. In a far cry from her prim and proper Suits character Rachel Zane, Meghan plays single Dana, who is shown shimmying into a skintight dress before a night out. When her friend, Heather, says she didn’t think Dana was on the hunt for a new man, Dana insists: “I dress this way for me. I’m not looking for a guy tonight. Trust me.” A voiceover explains that Meghan’s character is also jealous of Heather’s ample bust. MEGHAN CUPS HER BREASTS As Meghan cups her own breasts, the narrator adds: “She’s considering buying a pair for herself.” The two girls then head to a nightclub where Meghan’s character can be seen snorting a suspicious substance. When the show was released in 2011 it only lasted one episode because telly executives decided they did not want a whole series. But Artist Rights Distribution is planning to re-release it as a film later this year, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Shortly after appearing in the racy comedy, Meghan landed the role of Rachel Zane on Suits. WILL SHE MAKE A CAMEO IN SUITS? She fast became a fan favourite and rumours are swirling she’ll make a cameo in the show’s final season (airing later this year). Suits creator Aaron Korsh is giving nothing away. He told website Popsugar he’d love if she reprised her role, but he’s “not currently pursuing asking Meghan to leave her position with the royal family and join us”. Just one month later she tied the knot with Prince Harry at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. The royal couple are now expecting their first child together. The show was called The Boys and Girls Guide to Getting Down The show only lasted for one episode – but it is due to be distributed as a film Meghan was in the show before she found fame on Suits The show was called The Boys and Girls Guide to Getting Down In the show she plays a character who takes drugs Her character is seen snorting a suspicious substance

editorial It took nearly five years to overcome the "caliphate" of the Islamic State decreed in 2014 by Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi on the western third of Iraq and the eastern third of Syria. Five years of intense bombing of international coalition aircraft grounded by Kurdish-Arab forces. Five years, it's huge given the asymmetry of the […]

No symptoms of the medications that I’ve noticed. My above the butt area is a little sore from the progesterone shots but nothing terrible. […]

Far Cry New Dawn review: More of the same, only pinker – Far Cry New Dawn looks like it should be a big shakeup to the series, but once you peel back the outer layer of neon-pink paint, it’s the same old Far Cry underneath. If you like the series’ trademark open-world busywork, then it’ll […]

Diarmuid Breatnach Recently a number of people have been marching in Dublin, saying that they are the Yellow Vests of Ireland. This is obviously inspired by the Gilets Jaunes (“Yellow Vests”) whose protests against the French Government began in November last year and swelled to huge numbers in Paris demonstrations and riots. Some smaller groups […]

Namaste Saathiaru (friends)! It has been a whirlwind to say the least…  I left home over 2 weeks ago yesterday, even though staging in Los Angeles feels like both a million years ago and just yesterday. After leaving LA, we spent a few days in Kathmandu for Initial Orientation, vaccines, and a lot of introductions […]

Why am I this way? Gosh, I wish I had a dollar for every time I’ve asked myself that. I don’t think many people can answer that, and those that can have SO many degrees and letters after their name and then THAT makes me anxious too…then the snowball effect starts. “Will they find something […]

Sometimes we feel ablsolutely shattered. There is nothing left within us and we just can’t be bother to try anymore. Often in our walks with God we apply this when we aren’t hearing from God anymore or when we feel lost and without direction. In these times it is pivotal not to lose hope and […]

A TATTOO parlour and rock star suites complete with tables you can dance on don’t sound like the components of your average cruise liner, but The Scarlet Lady is no ordinary ship. In fact Virgin Voyages, Richard Branson’s latest venture, is a cruise for people who don’t cruise. Virgin Voyages plan to begin operating in April 2020 Tycoon Richard Branson wants to introduce cruise ships to a younger generation With his company’s “rebellious luxe” aesthetic this is cruising for the Instagram generation — well, those who can afford it. And The Sun got a sneak peek as it was floated on water for the first time in Genoa, Italy this week. Although a long way from finished, it’s easy to see how the imposing, steel-grey ship will have the wow factor. This week, prices for the ship’s maiden season were announced. [boxout headline=”GO: Virgin Voyages”]GETTING/STAYING THERE: Virgin Voyages prices for its five-night Mayan Sol itinerary will be from £750pp. Its five-night Havana After Dark itinerary is from £1,090pp. This includes full-board, free fitness classes, free tips, free wifi and free water, soft drinks, teas and coffees. See virginvoyages.com. Virgin Holidays will be offering packages including flights from £1,690pp on the four-night Havana After Dark with flights from Heathrow to Miami. See virginholidays.co.uk or call 0344 488 3084. [/boxout] [bc_video video_id=”5811820241001″ account_id=”5067014667001″ player_id=”default” embed=”in-page” padding_top=”56%” autoplay=”” min_width=”0px” max_width=”640px” width=”100%” height=”100%” caption=”Sir Richard Branson unveils a peek at his first cruise liner the Scarlet Lady”] Starting from April 1, 2020 it will sail four or five-night Caribbean cruises calling at Cuba, Mexico or the Dominican Republic as well as the line’s private beach club in the Bahamas, with full-board fares from £750 per person. From the outside, the ship is sleek and modern — a far cry from the “floating blocks of flats” carrying up to 6,000 passengers that have become the norm in recent years. Scarlet will welcome just 2,800 “sailors”. Inside there’s a whole host of features that are very Virgin. Sir Richard was out to shake things up in the world of cruise ships. He said: “I’ve dreamed of starting my own cruise line since I was in my twenties. “We have taken the time to think about every detail and craft an experience that brings the Virgin brand to life.” The ship will be adults only It is certainly different. Firstly it’s adults only, “a sanctuary at sea for the 18-plus traveller”. Once on board we’re taken straight to the top deck where our guide, Dee Cooper — senior vice president of design — gestures towards the running track, which is to be painted bright red. There’s also an outdoor gym, a boxing ring, juice bars and a yoga studio. But if working out is not your idea of a holiday (it’s not mine) then your first port of call on The Scarlet Lady might be The Athletic Club towards the back of the ship. Don’t be put off by the name – it’s a sun lounging area with a bar and brightly coloured day beds surrounding the largest catamaran net at sea. The enormous triangular net can fit 40 people on it and has exhilarating — if not slightly daunting — views down to the ship’s wake some 16 decks below. The ship is under construction in Genoa, Italy The cabins — all 1,330 of them — are similar to those you’d expect to see on any cruise ship except for a nifty new bed design that can convert an L-shaped sofa into a comfy double bed. This gives you more room to chill throughout the day and a hammock to swing on into the sunset. But then we arrive at one of two aptly named Massive Suites. They are truly vast and once fitted out will have luxurious marble bathrooms, a huge living room which doubles as an extra bedroom, with circular sofas, a music room packed with guitars and amps, and a terrace with a dining table. The dining table comes complete with steps so you can (and are encouraged to) dance on it. How the luxurious bedrooms will look There’s also hammocks, an open- air shower and a hot tub — not to mention what is probably the best sea view on board. On lower decks there are the restaurants — one of which, Razzle Dazzle, will offer a vegetarian brunch hosted by drag queen. There is also a spa, with a mud room and sea views, a tattoo parlour and a club to party the night away. In a move that breaks with the current fashion to charge extra for upscale restaurants, all of the 20-plus eateries onboard will be included in the price of the cruise, as well as your tips and soft drinks. Entertainment onboard promises to move away from the traditional all-singing, all-dancing West End-style shows and offer something more quirky for a new generation of cruisers. Virgin are hoping to win over a new generation There will be everything from festival-style gigs to X-rated comedy dinner shows. With the first cruises on sale now, it is obvious Virgin are trying to appeal to a very different audience with their ships. The Caribbean itineraries will include overnight stays in ports like Havana, allowing guests to experience the thrill of the night life. And then there is the newly revealed Beach Club on Bimini island in the Bahamas. Once a favourite with novelist Ernest Hemingway, the new private club will welcome guests with an Ibiza vibe as well as a maiden-season residency from top DJ Mark Ronson. [article-rail-section title=”MOST READ IN TRAVEL” posts_category=”324″ posts_number=”6″ query_type=”popular” /] As well as cabanas to chill in and a vast freshwater pool lit with LEDs for the ultimate sunset party, there will be more than seven miles of beautiful beaches to explore. Virgin is unashamedly going for the kind of “sailor” who can afford to splash out on a luxurious party palace at sea. Get it right and they are going to welcome a whole new generation to the ocean waves. See today’s best travel deals Get email alerts of the best deals straight to your inbox
