Kate has snapped sweet pictures of her oldest son to mark his sixth birthday (Picture: PA) Proud parents Kate and Prince William have shared three adorable portraits of their son Prince George to celebrate his birthday. The eldest child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – and the third in line to the throne – turns six on Monday. His hobby photographer mum, who recently succeeded the Queen as the figurehead of the Royal Photographic Society, snapped the shots in their garden recently. Clad in the white England football shirt, the youngster can be seen grinning gleefully and flashing his missing tooth as he lies in the garden outside Kensington Palace. George is the spitting image of his dad and granddad in a third shot – with messy hair, striped blue and white shorts and a polo shirt – taken during a family holiday. Prince George donned the white England home shirt in two of the snaps (Picture: PA) He flashed his missing tooth in the pictures (Picture: PA) The youngster is the spitting image of his dad (Picture: PA) He will celebrate with his parents and siblings Princess Charlotte, four, and Prince Louis, one, tomorrow at what is said to be a ‘low-key’ affair. Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge was born in the Lindo Wing, a private site attached to St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London, on July 22, 2013. He arrived at 4.24pm, weighing 8lb 6oz. The future king made his public debut in front of the world’s media on the hospital steps one day later, wrapped in a white merino wool shawl, cradled in his parents’ arms. The prince has completed Year 1 at Thomas’s Battersea School, and this September will begin Year 2 – his final year in the Lower School, before he moves to Middle School. He made his public debut just one day after he was born (Picture: PA) George as he arrived for his first day at school on September 7, 2017 (Picture: Getty) Charlotte will be joining her older brother at the private school, where the most important rule is to be kind. The new school year will bring a few changes for George, with Thomas’s asking Year 2 children to become more responsible, including recording their own homework in their diaries. Ten minutes’ reading homework will be set every school night and a spelling rule sent home each week – as well as other 20-minute tasked issued on occasions. As well as English, maths, science, history and geography, George will be taught French, computing, arts and design technology, drama, music and RE. While George learned ballet in Year 1, only girls are taught ballet in Year 2, according to Thomas’s curriculum guide. He is fascinated by planes and helicopters according to his dad (Picture: PA) George and Charlotte as they inspected their mum’s Chelsea Flower Show garden (Picture: Rex) Just like his mum, George is a keen tennis fan and – according to his favourite player Roger Federer – has a ‘good’ technique with the racket. George and his two siblings enjoy an outdoorsy life, with Kate promoting the health benefits of spending time in fresh air. He provided inspiration for Kate’s Chelsea Flower Show garden in May, after he requested stepping stones over a mini pool. The Cambridge children helped their mother gather moss, leaves and twigs to decorate the garden, with hazel sticks collected by the family from their home used to make the den. A photo taken to mark Prince George’s fourth birthday (Picture: PA) A photo of Prince George taken to mark his fifth birthday (Picture: Rex) William also revealed his son’s continued fascination with flying when he celebrated the 30th anniversary of London’s Air Ambulance Charity. Presented with a model helicopter, the duke quipped: ‘I cannot go back without a helicopter – George will never forgive me.’ The great-grandchild of the Queen will be the 43rd monarch since William the Conqueror obtained the crown of England if, as expected, he follows the reigns of his grandfather, the Prince of Wales, and then his father, William. Kate has snapped pictures of all her children for their birthdays, above is George’s fourth and fifth birthday portrait. Happy birthday George!
