The Unveiled

What has our attention today, will we be ready for Christ return? Or will he catch us off guard not doing the things of God? Will we be serving the Lord, and doing all he has called us to do, walking in our purpose, or so focused on the cares and pleasures of this world. […]

Stray Thoughts

One of my children has a friend who, after graduating from a Christian college and working in Christian camps, went home, got involved with a guy who landed in prison, and ended up pregnant and unmarried. Her church was very supportive of her and helped her through her pregnancy and single motherhood. But within a […]

Keep P.U.S.Hing (Praying.Until.Something.Happens) Joshua 21:45 (NKJV) 45 Not a word failed of any good thing which the Lord had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass. When we experience a setback, we tend to focus on the wrong place. We look at the bank account. We keep our eyes on others in our […]

Just thinking about everything I have explained to everyone this summer before I head back to the Land of the Morning Calm. Number One: I am not teaching English, I am teaching in English. I cannot make this any clearer to people. People always ask what subject I teach, or if I teach Korean, or how […]

For more information, call 510-845-7735. — Berkeley Humane Society Marvel is an all-around great family dog. This three-year-old female German shepherd mix likes other canines and should be fine with kids. She’s smart and has a calm, loving personality (she might even get along with your cat, but we can’t make any promises). An old injury causes one of her ears to flop, but on Marvel it just looks cute. Come meet Marvel at Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter (FAAS), open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday at 1590 Fortmann Way in Alameda. I’m Manny, a male domestic shorthair cat that’s 3 years and 1 month old. What do I want? Affection. When do I want it? Now. What will I give you in return? Purrs. Loud purrs. A belly. And eternal love and gratitude. In honor of Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat Month, adoption fees are waived for all cat graduates (ages 6 months and up) through June 30. Meet Manny a the East Bay SPCA, Oakland, open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday at at 8323 Baldwin St. in Oakland. She is a greeter kitty, a follow-you-around feline who shakes your hand and warms your heart. She wants to be the queen of your castle. To meet 1-year old Sophia, email Renee at rmkemerson@gmail.com. Most Community Concern for Cats (CC4C) felines can be seen at weekend adoption events from 1 to 4 p.m. at Pet Food Express in Pleasant Hill and Lafayette and at Petco in Walnut Creek. For more information, visit communityconcernforcats.org online. — CC4C Bully (I.D. # A131630) is a friendly and playful 2-year-old male dog weighing 48 pounds. He is a good boy in the kennel, loves his playtime and is fairly good on a leash. Bully loves toys and chasing balls, but has a hard time sharing his toys when playing, so if there are children in the family, the older-the better. He will need some training in basic manners, but Bully is smart and eager to please though, so training should come fairly easy. Bully can be reactive to other dogs, due to limited socialization, so a solo dog home would be best at this time. Pickles (I.D. #  A131520) is a young tabby cat with a big heart that is very in touch with her “inner kitten.” She is a rolling, purring, happy muffin-making machine! Whoever gets Pickles is gonna have a full deli of fun! Ask to meet either of these pets by their identification numbers above. Those interested in adopting pets from Antioch Animal Services (AAS) can visit the shelter in person at 300 L St. in Antioch or call 925-779-6989, ext. 4009. — AAS

Bad Girls Bible

Many women have asked what it means when their men cannot orgasm during sex, and readers worry what’s going wrong when their partners struggle with delayed ejaculation. These things can throw you off if you’re used to a sexual script where your man always comes or his orgasm signals the end of sex. It’s normal […]

Because the thriller series is no longer just a vessel for the Wer-ist-the-perpetrator puzzle with social report elements – it also provides space for new forms and aesthetics that are not […]
