Here we have a rarely seen piece, by arguably the most famous watch designer to ever live. This bronze case Gefica model bares the name Gerald Genta on its dial, this being one of the most iconic solo designs of his career. For decades before the Gefica debuted, Genta was designing watches for brands like Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, and Omega. A lasting tribute to his design prowess is the fact that some of those pieces, like the Royal Oak and Nautilus, have become some of the most collected and sought after watches one earth.
The Gefica has a completely different sense of style and gravity than the watches Genta designed for those other firms. This is truly Genta released. A 36mm bronze case, ringed by two sets of texture adding dots, and a black bezel set underneath a sapphire crystal. Featuring a beautiful matte, but also just slightly iridescent, egg shell dial, with four separated subsidiary dials. One each for the day of the week and the date, one showing off a day and night indicator, while the last houses a stunning moonphase complication. Worn on a black leather strap, with even more interestingly a compass buckle.
This Gefica model is a true stunner, and a wonderful solo work to have from the watch world’s most prolific creator. Also fully serviced by one of our veteran watchmakers, and offered with our 1 year warranty of accurate timekeeping and operation.
