I’ve seen a post describing the astrological signs as kings and queens and I loved it so much I challenged myself to draw them all, an illustration a day. Here they are! Aries: An emperor decked in robes made from spider’s silk, attendants watching silently as the room fills with pipe smoke. The rain outside […]

Forsaken Moonlight

In the silent night, even the moon was hidden behind dark clouds, not wanting to look upon this dirty world. Lan You Nian, clothed in white sleepwear, stood in front of the window. A cold gust of night wind blew up the long hair scattered on her back giving off a kind of indifferent immortal […]

I always think about writing poetry based on the types of media I consume. For example, if I watch a good pro wrestling match, or a good movie, etc, I will mentally try to construct a poem with that structure. Of course, it’s using a grammar that only makes sense to me, and is hard to […]

LEO CULLEN believes it could be wet and wild when Leinster get into Bath this evening. The province face the English Premiership side at the Aviva Stadium this evening in the Champions Cup, with the weather predicted to be biblical. Leo Cullen expects wet and windy weather to have an effect on Leinster’s clash with Bath Strong winds and heavy rain will hit Dublin over the weekend with spot flooding predicted, which is not too different to the elements that turned last week’s game in Bath into a battle. But while Cullen is confident the Lansdowne Road pitch will still play well — unlike the heavy sod at The Rec — he knows the weather will still test both teams. Cullen — whose side came home from England with a 17-10 victory — said: “It is due for a lot of rain from what I am reading. “The surface is different so that’s one of the things. The surface looks fantastic out there so credit to all the ground staff here. Strong winds and heavy rain will hit Dublin over the weekend “The pitch is very different here to The Rec and will that have an effect? Yeah, slightly. “So yeah we will wait and see what it looks like. “It was a little bit greasy out there Friday for the guys running around, so they will get a little bit of a sense, it is not due to be as windy at game time I don’t think. “There could be quite a bit of rain. So we will see what it is like. We’re trying to add different strings to the game all the time. “We need to understand that sometimes you need to roll your sleeves up and do what needs to be done on any given day. “That’s what people want to come and see as well. We expect the same from Bath. “We know that they are under a different type of pressure for themselves and we saw how that manifested itself in last week’s performance again and we expect something very, very similar.” Bath, like Leinster, really needed to win last weekend. Luke McGrath And with three games remaining in the pool, the Somerset outfit realistically have to win all their matches. Leinster need the points too and scrum-half Luke McGrath is mindful that former Blues coach and player Girvan Dempsey in on Todd Blackadder’s ticket at Bath. Ireland international McGrath said: “We have looked a lot at Bath and we can see Girvan coming through in their plays, especially in their set-piece plays. “It is something we have looked to do in the past. “I think when we are out there, we are trying to come up with new plays that Girv would not have seen. “You know Girv has coached me at underage level and everything so he knows a lot of our tricks. “But I think when you are out there you have to back the game-plan that we’ve done to be successful, hope for the best out there I guess. “You just can’t second-guess yourself out there. “You have no time, you are not really thinking about it. You are hoping that what you have done in training will come to use.” Cullen has been forced to make changes from last week with Rob Kearney absent with what is vaguely described as a knock, meaning Jordan Larmour moves to full-back with Adam Byrne on the wing. [article-rail-section title=”MOST READ IN SPORT ” posts_category=”18″ posts_number=”6″ query_type=”popular” /] Rory O’Loughlin also comes in at No 12 with Cullen confident the winger has got the experience at centre to step up. Cullen said: “He played a lot of games last year. Even last year in the PRO14 semi-final, Isa Nacewa went off at half-time, Rory came on at 12. Similar in the final, Isa went off after 18 minutes and Rory came on. So he’s played a lot of games at centre, we’ve a lot of confidence in him.” LEINSTER: J Larmour; A Byrne, G Ringrose, R O’Loughlin, J Lowe; J Sexton, L McGrath; C Healy, S Cronin, T Furlong; D Toner, J Ryan; D Leavy, J van der Flier, J Conan. Reps: J Tracy, E Byrne, A Porter, R Molony, R Ruddock, J Gibson-Park, R Byrne, N Reid.
