This is our second summer in DC, and we FINALLY went to the beach. I’m pretty familiar with West Coast beaches and Florida beaches, and I have a clear picture in my head of New England beaches. When I think of Mid-Atlantic beaches, I think of the Outer Banks in North Carolina. When I hear […]

The splendid blog 5055

Probably the vibe was during the air, through the anniversary of a protracted-ago summer months of love, Once i planted many irresistibly eccentric beauties. A nodding hippie of the plant, Datisca cannabina is actually a woody perennial with vaguely cannabislike foliage; it sports pendulous, shaggy, fragrant wands of flowers that set chains of affection-bead seeds. As long as Police are making shit up… They just did this: Police have responded to suggestions that MSSA rifles be allowed for sport saying that this would not be possible. Their reason? That no New Zealand Pistol Association type system to manage them exists. Sooooo…. They take carbines out of that proven system. Because….. […]

The Gulf coast was drowning in late spring storms in May, so we expected our visit to be a weather wash-out. But who cares — we’re in New Orleans! Patricia was attending a museum conference and the perks included behind-the-scenes tours of various museums. On our first full day in New Orleans, we were scheduled […]

The Truth About Guns

The Las Vegas shooter used a bump fire stock in 2017, the only time the accessory had ever been used in the commission of a crime. The result: President Trump ordered the ATF to re-classify bump stocks as machine guns, effectively banning them. Last month, a Virginia Beach municipal employee when on a shooting rampage […]

Quinn Scaggs, left, and a video screegrab of Scaggs allegedly committing an armed burglary. A dangerous 17-year-old boy who allegedly went on a crime spree including committing burglaries with a gun in Colorado Springs has escaped from Lookout Mountain Youth Services Center in Golden. Quinn Skaggs [cq comment=”cq”]fled the detention facility around midnight Tuesday, said Madlynn Ruble, spokeswoman for the Colorado Department of Human Services. “He is a violent offender and I would say he is very dangerous,” said Deputy Chief Joe Harvey of the Golden Police Department. “He just does a lot of assaults.” Harvey said it is possible that he could steal a car or break into a home. Ruble recommends that if residents see Skaggs they should immediately call 911. Because Skaggs is a juvenile, Ruble said she was limited in how much she could say about the incident. RELATED: Three Lookout Mountain Youth Services Center staff injured while breaking up gang fight as facility grapples with severe shortage of guards Harvey said Skaggs was accounted for at 11:58 p.m. Monday and within 21 minutes managed to tear out molding around the window of his room and rip out the window to escape. Police later found bed sheets on a fence indicating how he fled the facility, Harvey said. In April, Colorado Springs police sought Scaggs for several felony crimes including a series of burglaries, said police news releases at the time. [related_articles location=”right” show_article_date=”false” article_type=”automatic-primary-section”] Golden police are also investigating a felony assault charge against Scaggs, who is scheduled to appear on July 1 for a hearing determining whether he should be tried as a juvenile or an adult for pending felony cases. At the time, police released a video of Scaggs committing a burglary with a weapon. Colorado Springs police warned the public at the time to consider Scaggs to be armed and dangerous. Lookout mountain has had numerous recent incidents including two prior escapes and riots. Two sex offenders with gang ties, including one deemed a violent sex offender, escaped from Lookout Mountain on May 6.
