A night out has changed everything in Emmerdale but is sex abuser Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein) dead after a showdown with Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi), Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh) and Priya Sharma (Fiona Wade)? A brand new trailer certainly seems to hint at that as it reveals a woodland showdown with Leyla brutally attacking Maya for her abuse of Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant). The three women then sombrely stand as they burn some of Maya’s clothing. It’s foreboding but what have they done with Maya – and will they be facing a murder charge if a body is found in the woods? Meanwhile, the video also reveals that Victoria Barton (Isabel Hodgins) has endured a horrific trauma after being left behind at the club. As she bursts into tears when back home, Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) tries to get through to her about what has happened but will Victoria confide in her? (Picture: ITV) The outcome of the nightout will be revealed in a series of special flashbacks early next month and will prove how lives have changed forever. With the trailer also showing a knife fight and viewers knowing that Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) may well have made a mistake of her own, there is a lot to think about and many questions. But many fans don’t actually want a death outcome for Maya, with the vast majority hoping that she faces her day in court. Of course, the trailer could be dropping a red herring or two and the villain may survive. But from the threatening tone of Leyla and the dramatic aftermath in the days which followed that night, it certainly isn’t looking good for Maya. Either way she is finally facing some degree of comeuppance for what she has done. Viewers will just have to wait and see exactly what form that punishment takes. [metro-zone-post-strip]
