(Picture: ISO Images) EastEnders cast are this week filming the big wedding day of Callum ‘Halfway’ Highway (Tony Clay) and Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) and it promises to be a day to remember – but will the truth about Callum’s sexuality struggle and his passion with Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) be dramatically exposed in true soap style? The actors have been on location for the big day, with Whitney hoping for her happy ever after while Callum tries his best to cover up his true self and convince himself that this is what he wants. But as the tension between him and Ben continues to sizzle over the summer, will he give in to temptation again? And will Ben – a bit of a loose cannon – expose the truth? (Picture: ISO Images) Or perhaps Callum decides that it’s time he stopped living a lie and told Whitney the truth before they properly commit to one another? Either way, it’s an EastEnders wedding and so unlikely set to be drama free. And with Patsy Palmer back for a stint as Bianca Butcher, things are surely bound to kick off in one way or another. A source told Metro.co.uk: ‘Whitney truly thinks she has found the one in Callum – he’s kind, sensitive, funny and generally decent. But she is completely obvlivious to the struggle he has been enduring. It would shatter Whitney is if her plans for the future were shattered on the day shethinks everything is finally going to fall into place for her. (Picture: ISO Images) ‘As for Callum, he knows he needs to be honest – with himself more than anyone. Ben is unpredictable and could out the truth at any time – so will Callum beat him to it? Or will Callum and Whitney become husband and life, leaving unresolved tensions and even more heartache to come?’ (Picture: ISO Images) It remains to be seen what the outcome will be. Fans recently speculated the identity of a character death after a viewer who was near to the Elstree set claimed to see extras preparing to film a funeral this week too. Metro.co.uk understands that this on location filming is not connected to what is being filmed at the studio so speculation around a Whitney death seems off the mark. (Picture: ISO Images) Between takes, cast members were seen laughing and mucking about together with Ricky Champ and Jamie Borthwick (Stuart and Jay) enjoying a game of football. Others present include Danny Dyer (Mick), Jessie Wallace (Kat), Maisie Smith (Tiffany), Jasmine Armfield (Bex), Davood Ghadami (Kush) and Gillian Wright (Jean). (Picture: BBC) Gray Atkins (Toby Alexander-Smith) has proven to be a great asset to the Taylor clan in EastEnders, but in spite of his commitment to wife Chantelle (Jessica Plummer) and her family, we still know very little about him. However, we’ll start to see a bit of a dark side emerge for the solicitor, as he clashes with Mitch (Roger Griffiths) in the coming episodes. When Gray first showed up in Albert Square, Karen (Lorraine Stanley) and Mitch weren’t really sure what to make of him. However, it didn’t take long for the dashing solicitor to win his mother-in-law’s affection, after he waded in to confront Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) on her behalf over Denny’s heinous attack on Chatham and Riley. With very little known about Gray thus far, viewers have speculated that the character could have a much darker side to his personality which has yet to emerge — and it appears as if we might catch our first glimpse of this next week, as the Walford 10k arrives. With everyone excited about the impending charity event, Gray decides to help out, and he uses his charm to persuade some of the residents of Albert Square to sign up. Chantelle and Mick (Danny Dyer) agree to take part, as does Mitch — who signs up after Gray antagonises him. The day of the charity run arrives, and there’s plenty of tension between Gray and Mitch, both of whom are ready to outperform the other. During the race, Mitch manages to speed past Gray and Bex (Jasmine Armfield) — both of whom are considered frontrunners — to pick up the victory. However, when he is crowned the champion, he admits that he cheated. The Walford residents don’t take Mitch’s deceit too seriously, and they all laugh at his revelation. However, Gray is not in the least bit pleased with his father-in-law over his actions and, as a result, he leaves the celebrations! Is Gray’s dark side beginning to emerge? Or are his actions simply a result of his frustration over Mitch’s unwillingness to get to know him? One to watch: Friday 12th July at 8pm on BBC One.

(Picture: BBC) Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean) got the shock of her life in EastEnders tonight when she made a discovery that has just made the whole situation she is in even more complicated – she is pregnant and there’s every chance that Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) could be the father! Keanu was all set to depart Walford when, on advice from Bex Fowler (Jasmine Armfield), Louise (Tilly Keeper) caught up with him at the tube station and revealed that she is still carrying the baby. Telling her that he had wanted her to be pregnant, he was elated and the pair embraced and agreed to give their relationship another chance. The reunion came as Phil’s (Steve McFadden) attempts to persuade Louise to accept payment for a termination failed – she insisted that she can be a mum and do it well. Now a unit together, Keanu and Louise are looking to the future, with Keanu in particular hoping that he can put his past behind him. But at the same time as things were finally starting to smooth themselves out, Sharon’s pregnancy test rocked the boat again. [metro-video id=”1938664″] She stared at it with horror and now has a big decision to make. Will she tell Keanu or Phil about what has happened and will she keep the baby? A recent trailer showed Sharon having a meltdown in the street suggesting that this is just the beginning of a whole new big drama for the Mitchell clan. Speaking to Metro.co.uk recently, Danny confirmed that Louise is where Keanu’s heart lies but he won’t be able to escape the mistakes he has made in the past. And the cast are looking just as much forward to the inevitable explosive fallout as fans are. With so many disastrous layers, this is going to be one reveal that will be unmissable.

But it’s more complicated than that still as Keanu is in a relationship with Phil’s daughter Louise (Tilly Keeper) – and both of them are pregnant! What a mess. But while the showdown may be a long way off, Tilly and Danny have promised major scenes and twists, though Louise reckons we may need a week long special to cover all of the timebombs due to explode. We’d be up for that in all honesty. Meanwhile, Danny assured us that Keanu’s heart lies with Louise (mind you, he was under the fixed glare of Tilly at the time) – but past mistakes can’t be erased and would eventually come back and bite them. We can’t imagine Phil will be best pleased when he finds out what’s been going on (Picture: BBC) The pair were joined on the red carpet by Jasmine Armfield, who has been playing some tough – and also some cringey (*cough* shower *cough) scenes as Bex Fowler recently. And she warned that there is still a journey to go on for Bex – and she could get worse before she gets better. So all in all, a cheerful summer and autumn all round for them, then? The EastEnders trailer has arrived, which means it’s time to look forward to a Summer full of drama in Albert Square. We already can see from the trailer some big storylines including Bobby Beale’s return (now played by Clay Milner Russell), Jack Branning’s (Scott Maslen) arrest, and another big storyline involving the Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) and the Mitchell family. The trailer was a short two minutes which means they threw in some very short clips that were hard to take note of unless you paused the video. So what’s behind the short blink and you miss them moments in the trailer? Here’s eight things you may have missed: 1) Ben attacks someone, and then gets beaten up as well  We know that Ben’s (Max Bowden) current storyline is a connection with Callum ‘Halfway’ Highway (Tony Clay) after discovering that Callum is hiding the truth about his sexuality, and we also know Callum asked his brother Stuart (Ricky Champ) to ‘deal with him’ but soon changed his mind after Stuart confronted Ben in the pub toilets. Could this short clip in the trailer of Ben punching someone, and then getting seriously beaten up himself be down to Stuart not listening to Callum and arranging for Ben to be attacked? 2) Keanu looking for someone on London rooftops  It’s clear Keanu (Danny Walters) is heavily involved in a storyline this summer, but the small clip of him on a rooftop in the city got me thinking. Is he running from someone, or is he looking for someone? We see a bit further into the trailer that he’s kidnapped and put in a warehouse, and we also see him running from the police – is this all because Phil (Steve McFadden) finds out about Sharon (Letitia Dean) and Keanu’s affair, or something completely different? 3) Linda and Shirley hugging at Spice Girls concert  (Picture: BBC) In recent episodes, Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) was seen trying to win Spice Girls concert tickets for Linda (Kellie Bright) via a radio competition, he lost the competition, but bus driver Terry who he lost to very kindly gave him the tickets when he discovered his wife didn’t even like the Spice Girls. In the trailer we see Linda dressed as Baby Spice and Shirley (Linda Henry) dressed as Scary Spice (very apt) hugging in the toilets and not long after, Mick sees them – I could be looking at this the wrong way, but perhaps Linda is hiding something from Mick and confides in Shirley? Maybe Linda has learnt why son Ollie has been showing signs of worrying behaviour? Alternatively, they may just need a five minute breather after an emotional song during the concert… 4) Arrival of Sami’s mother Nita We know Robbie (Dean Gaffney) has been looking after son Sami for a while and has been acting strangely whenever the subject of Sami’s mum pops up which has made me wonder whether Sami was meant to be in Robbie’s care for so long. We see Nita (Bindya Solanki) hugging Sami in the Square Gardens during the trailer – does Nita think Robbie has kidnapped Sami? 5) Kush running after/from someone If you saw this clip without pausing the video a round of applause to you because it was a quick one to spot. Initially I thought the clip showed Kush (Davood Ghadami) running after someone – potentially Nita, but pausing the video has made me realise there is no connection there but Kush is in fact running away from Martin (James Bye)! Kush hasn’t had it easy recently and after hiding the secret about Bex’s (Jasmine Armfield) ADHD tablets and also announcing he wants joint custody of his son Arthur, Martin and him haven’t exactly seen eye to eye. What could Kush have possibly done now? 6) Stuart saving Rainie  Recent spoilers have shown Rainie (Tanya Franks) kidnapping Max’s (Jake Wood) granddaughter Abi and during the trailer we see Stuart saving Rainie from someone after she get’s in some bother with a stranger. Could I go as far as saying Stuart is becoming a bit of a hero after finding Bex a few weeks ago and now saving Rainie and baby Abi from someone? Well…maybe not a hero just yet… 7) Sharon punches Karen  (Picture: BBC) An interesting turn of events sees Sharon punch Karen (Lorraine Stanley) which certainly shocked me. I tried to put my finger on why Sharon could be punching Karen but the only possible answer I can come up with based on what we’ve seen so far in the trailer is that perhaps Sharon was tired of Karen giving her a piece of her mind when it comes to her and Keanu’s affair? A complete unprovoked punch in the face out of anger? It is Albert Square, not everything has a justified reason behind it! 8) Arrival of Callum and Stuart’s dad  This summer will see the arrival of Callum and Stuart’s evil and abusive father Jonno (played by Hollywood star Richard Graham) and in the clips within the trailer, neither of the Highway brothers look pleased to see him. Callum is pinned up against the wall by his father, not long after we hear Callum say ‘you’re hurting me’ and then when Stuart comes into contact with Jonno, he threatens to kill him. But of course, the obvious question is – what’s the reason behind Jonno’s arrival? Punches, new arrivals, hugs, and kidnappings – are the residents of Albert Square ever going to just have a normal, quiet day?! [metro-zone-post-strip]

(Picture: BBC) Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) could be trying to take Steve McDonald’s crown as most fertile soap male as the EastEnders lothario may well be the dad of two Mitchell babies — as both Louise (Tilly Keeper) and Sharon (Letitia Dean) are pregnant! Just when you thought it couldn’t get even more complicated! Sharon and Keanu recently reignited their passion briefly after ending their affair while Louise eventually decided to keep her baby after Sharon tried to persuade her to have a termination. Now that Phil (Steve McFadden) knows, Louise tries to force him to come to terms with the idea but he wants Keanu out of town so offers him work elsewhere. Bex Fowler (Jasmine Armfield) urges Louise to tell Keanu about the baby before it’s too late and when they finally come fact to face, Keanu admits that he still loves her and always wanted the baby. The pair share a tearful emrabce of reunion but across the Square, Sharon has taken a pregnancy test which is positive – but is her child Keanu’s or Phil’s? (Picture: BBC) Phil decides to accept what is happening with Keanu and Louise and after warning him to take care of his daughter and treat her properly, he is welcomed to the fold but Sharon’s fears grow as she ponders her own secret. And after a failed therapy session with Dennis (Bleu Landau), Sharon breaks down in tears, struggling to cope. As Phil can see that Sharon isn’t dealing with things, he offers to cook the family meal. Meanwhile, Sharon researches a termination clinic but is interrupted by Keanu who checks that there isn’t going to be any awkwardness between them. Oh, if only you knew, fella! However, when Phil sees the website and assumes that Louise has had a change of heart once again, he demands to know what is going on – will Sharon come clean about her pregnancy? (Picture: BBC) The battle lines have been well and truly drawn between Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) and Stacey Fowler (Lacey Turner) in EastEnders as the pair had a very public clash after Stacey learned of Kush Kazemi‘s (Davood Ghadami) intention to fight for joint access to Arthur. Stacey and Kat had been bonding more than ever as they prepared a meal to try and restore peace between Kush and Martin (James Bye) following their fallout over Bex (Jasmine Armfield) going missing. But when Stacey learned that Kat knew about Kush wanting to fight for Arthur, she launchedinto a vicious tirade in the market place, telling Kush to stay well away. Kush reminded her that Arthur is his son, not Martin’s, which incensed Martin – but the real harsh words came from the women. As Stacey accused Kat of not caring about Arthur, she argued that she loves him but Stacey cruelly called into question her skills as a mother by yelling that she doesn’t know how to love kids. And it got worse from there when Stacey told her to keep away from her family, telling Kat that she was no longer part of it. A devastated Kat stood back in horror and in tears as Stacey promised her and Kush a fight. It looks like it’s just the beginning of some real nastiness between the characters – can peace ever be restored? [metro-zone-post-strip]

(Picture: WireImage; Backgrid; PA) I may have ended up with a headache, spent an hour becoming best friends with the legendary Sue Nicholls, threw some shapes on the dancefloor with a very celebratory Hollyoaks team and put the world to rights with the new Ben Mitchell but I did have a job to do at the British Soap Awards – and that was bringing you all of the spoilers and gossip I could find for Coronation Street, Emmerdale, EastEnders and Hollyoaks. Armed with a camera, a microphone, a shimmering shirt and a welcoming smile, I took to the red carpet and the stars of soapland raced over to Metro Soaps in their droves to share their gossip, banter and, most importantly, spoilers with us. We have a huge number of videos going up this week to keep the celebrations and excitement going but just to whet your appetite, here is just a paltry 46 things we learned. Yes, 46. 1. Billy and Paul have some happy times ahead in Coronation Street according to Daniel Brocklebank. After a heavy year for the vicar, he has told us he has signed a brand new contract and we will see lighter and much more fun times ahead – but Billy could see his more mischievous side coming through thanks to Paul. 2. Stephanie Davis has warned that the Laurie story is far from finished – and Hollyoaks viewers will be screaming at their TVs as he hasn’t finished causing misery yet. 3. Best Actor winner Gregory Finnegan has promised that we won’t be seeing the end of the cunning and dark side of James. And in the wake of the troubles with Harry and Sadie, there could be an explosive reaction. 4. Isobel Steele has promised that Emmerdale’s Liv Flaherty will be instrumental in helping Jacob past what happened with Maya. And she has teased that their relationship will become more special than ever over coming weeks. 5. The chemistry between Ben and Callum is sizzling in EastEnders and there will be much more to come as their complicated relationship develops. But it won’t be plain sailing as Callum also has to deal with his relationships with Whitney and Stuart, Tony Clay teased. 6. Rachel Adedeji reckons that Lisa could well be a match for serial killer Breda when she discovers that she was the one who killed Louis. There will definitely be battles ahead – and Lisa won’t take it lightly in Hollyoaks. (Picture: Wire Image) 7. Elle Mulvaney is open to more gritty storylines for Amy Barlow in Coronation Street following the teenage pregnancy. She shared that she saw this as an opportunity to prove herself from show bosses to prove herself. 8. Haiesha Mistry warned us that the far right storyline in Hollyoaks will get much worse – with some chillingly dark scenes ahead as the pure loathing from the racist gang hits the Maalik family hard. 9. Louisa Clein may not have filmed her final scenes with Emmerdale after all as she teased to us that there is a lot more to come and she could be back again before long as the aftermath of the story continues… 10. Jessamay Stoddart has promised even more bonkers songs from Liberty Savage – and together we plan to pitch a Christmas album to Hollyoaks bosses… 11. Dawn and Ryan’s on/off relationship will continue according to Emmerdale star James Moore – but whether or not Ryan will be able to forgive and forget remains to be seen… 12. Louisa Lytton has revealed that Ruby Allen will be having a new love interest when things don’t go to plan with Jay in EastEnders. And she narrowed down the playing field by confirming that the first initial of the man’s name isn ‘M’… 13. Victoria Barton’s focus in Emmerdale will be on trying to move past what has happened and determine to bring up a baby as she has always wanted to be a mum, says Isabel Hodgins. But there is huge conflict ahead with Robert who wants Lee to pay… 14. Coronation Street star Stirling Gallacher has warned there could be a devastating split ahead for Paula and Sophie as Brooke Vincent will soon go on maternity leave. But she confirmed that Paula is sticking around long term. 15. Owen Warner has hinted that Romeo could well become darker as the aftermath of Lily’s death plagues him and he begins to exhibit some of his dad’s more villainous tendencies in Hollyoaks. 16. There will be a romantic stirring between Michelle and newcomer James in Coronation Street as their paths cross. But could he be the one to restore her heart after it is inevitably broken by Robert? 17. The Dingles will continue to struggle after Lisa’s death – and Eden Taylor-Draper warns that there might not be any way for Lisa’s shoes to be filled. Life in Emmerdale will never be the same again without the beloved matriarch. 18. Sally St Claire is about to make a colossal mistake as she gets pulled deeper into the toxic conflict between Sienna and Laurie, says Annie Wallace – could she be about to accidentally make things worse in Hollyoaks? 19. With rumours of Sinead’s death growing in Coronation Street, Rob Mallard has promised that Daniel would never be the same again and that his dark nature might well return. Daniel sees Sinead as the love of his life – so without her, he could go off the rails. (Picture: Backgrid) 20. There are much bigger twists to come for the EastEnders Mitchell storyline, promises Tilly Keeper and Danny Walters. And when the whole mess finally exposed with the many secrets coming to light, they are expecting something colossal. 21. Liam Donovan will get darker in Hollyoaks as he determines to frame Harry for his recent crime. And while actor Jude Monk McGowan reckons the bad lad has genuine feelings for Mercedes, he thinks his ruthless side will always be out to protect himself and his family. 22. There is a serious storyline coming up for Emma Brooker, says Alexandra Mardell. While Emma might be more known for her bubbly and comedy scenes, trouble will kick off in summer and she will struggle to cope. 23. Luke Morgan’s Hollyoaks return will stir up huge trouble between Mandy and Darren which they may struggle to survive. As he comes back on the scene, it’s only a matter of time before the baby secret comes out. 24. Isabel Hodgins has revealed that it doesn’t look like Victoria will get justice for what happened to her as the character wants to put her ordeal behind her and Emmerdale may look to reflect the low rate of convictions in rape cases. 25. More sparks will fly between Adam and Habiba, warns Rukku Nahar – and lust could turn to much more. But will Honey finally discover his true colours in EastEnders? 26. The door is well and truly open for Faye Brookes to return to Coronation Street as Kate will not be killed off – and, as the Connors will be connected to her still, there’s every chance she could come back. 27. There are further battles ahead for Jean Slater in EastEnders, Gillian Wright has confirmed as her cancer fight continues. And the actress is very keen for a Sean return. 28. Jessamay Stoddart has hinted that Liberty will stand up to Laurie in Hollyoaks as she fiercely defends Sienna. And as Laurie’s manipulation continues, he had better beware of Liberty. 29. Sparks could still fly with Belle and Jamie, despite the fact that the Tate newcomer is married with a child. Eden Taylor-Draper revealed that it does present its complications but anything can happen in Emmerdale… 30. Jenny Connor is going to make some drastic changes to The Rovers – which will be quite eye opening for Coronation Street fans and may not go down well with Johnny or the Corrie locals, hinted Sally Ann Matthews. 31. Gregory Finnegan has warned that Hollyoaks #Jarry fans should brace themselves for a bumpy ride as the end could be nigh for the couple – although he hinted that James is adaptable enough to eventually accept the baby into his life. 32. Max Bowden has revealed that there will be further opportunities for Ben Mitchell to rediscover who he actually is in EastEnders aftewr being so consumed by revenge – and Callum could help in a big way as someone to open up to. (Picture: Getty) 33. Lysette Anthony has revealed that Marnie is not giving up on finding love in Hollyoaks but her immediate focus will be on troubled granddaughter Juliet as she struggles to find her way in life. 34. Lucy Fallon has admitted that she doesn’t yet know how Bethany Platt will depart Coronation Street but she hopes that the door would be left open and she is after an uplifting and positive end for her character like travelling or going to university. 35. The war between Kush and Martin shows no signs of dying down in EastEnders – and as things get more personal, they could be torn apart forever as this is just the beginning, James Bye and Davood Ghadami warned us. 36. Misbah is going to face her biggest struggle yet to protect her family against racist and far right abuse in Hollyoaks – and Harvey Virdi is worried that even though her character has always been strong, this might be too much for her to deal with. 37. There will be more crime ahead in Coronation Street – which is going to keep Stirling Gallacher busy as lawyer Paula!
