Dengan kata lain, saya tidak menerjemahkan secara literal tetapi berusaha tetap setiap pada maknanya. […]

Carolina center Jordan Staal has drawn the toughest matchups in the Hurricanes’ unforeseen rise to the Eastern Conference final. In their 4-3 opening series win over the reigning champion Washington Capitals, Staal’s line lessened the headwinds generated by the troika of Alex Ovechkin, Nicklas Backstrom and Tom Wilson. The ‘Canes checking line was equally effective in their second-round sweep of the Islanders. New York scored five goals in the series and its front line of Leo Komarov, Brock Nelson and Josh Bailey was a nonfactor. Staal, along with wingers Nino Niederreiter and Justin Williams, had more than a week of preparation for the daunting task that awaited them in Thursday night’s Game 1 against the Bruins at the Garden. Staal’s line was assigned to contain the Bruins’ top unit of center Patrice Bergeron and wingers Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak. “Obviously they are a talented line,” Staal said during a pregame press briefing at the Westin Boston Waterfront. “It’s just like with any top line, you try to take away time and space and play in their end and make them play defense and all those things. “We are going to try (to) keep them off the scoreboard as best we can and, obviously they are going to find a way to get chances. We have to limit their chances as best we can and do all the things we’ve done in the previous rounds.” Bergeron’s line put up the numbers that allowed the Bruins to survive a seven-game bloodletting against the Toronto Maple Leafs and close out the second round with three straight wins against Columbus. Marchand leads the group (5-8-13) followed by Pastrnak (6-5-11) and Bergeron (5-3-8). Bergeron has four power play goals while Pastrnak and Marchand have one apiece. “I’m hearing about that over and over and how do you handle it?” Carolina first-year coach Rod Brind’Amour said. “You put your best guys out there and you hope that they can play well against them. “They are great players and I don’t think you ever shut down great players. You just kind of hope to contain them and you hope your other guys can produce and make a game of it. “But we know how good they are and it’s not just about those guys. They have a lot of other guys that balance that team out. So, when they are on the ice, we are aware of them but they have other guys.” Staal is the Hurricanes’ version of Bergeron, a strong 200-foot player who has four goals and five assists with a plus-8 in 11 playoff games against stubborn opposition. While the Staal line will help, the real pressure is on the Hurricanes’ first defensive unit of Jaccob Slavin and former Bruin Dougie Hamilton. Slavin has 11 assists in the playoffs while Hamilton has three goals and four assists. “Those are the games as a defenseman you look forward to,” Slavin said. “Trying to shut down some of the best players in the world is a challenge but these are the games you live for.”
