Cole Hardister had a goal and an assist to help guide the Redwood High boys soccer team to a wild 5-3 win against Novato on Saturday. The Giants (4-1-1, 3-0-1 MCAL) got goals from five different players — Nathaniel Kuffner, Eric Zollezzi, Justin Neustaetter, Hardister and Cian Gallagher. Novato (1-2-1, 1-2-1) got a goal from Nixon Calderon in the 14th minute, one from Fredy Gonzalez in the 46th minute than a penalty kick by Calderon in the 65th. Redwood scored a pair of goals after Novato lost a player due to a red card for swearing. Max Diaz scored a hat trick as San Rafael picked up a 7-0 win against Marin Catholic (0-3-0, 0-3-0). Breiner Rodas scored twice for the Bulldogs (2-2-0, 2-2-0) while Acer Cristea and Yorvin Cifuentes each scored once. Tam got goals from Francis Brokering and Luke Whelan to pick up a 2-0 win against San Marin (1-3-1, 1-2-1). Sammy Wahab assisted on Whelan’s goal for Tam (3-1-0, 3-1-0). Sage Urbaez, Nico Sadie and Otis Lyons all found the back of the net to lead Drake to a 3-0 win against Sonoma Valley. Conor Dunn, Luke O’Heidhin and Adam Martinez had the assists for the Pirates (2-2-1). Girls soccer Lauren Summers scored to stake San Rafael to a lead then Aspen Morris scored a header off a corner kick to secure all three points as the Bulldogs topped Marin Catholic 2-0. Katie Wheeler took the corner that led to the second goal for San Rafael (2-2-1, 1-2-1). Aisling Swayne had the shutout against MC (1-2-0, 1-2-0). Eliana Prosnitz scored one goal and assisted on another to lead Branson to a 3-0 win against Terra Linda (1-2-1, 1-1-1). Prosnitz opened the scoring in the fourth minute on an assist by Abby Dillon and set up the final goal in the 79th minute by Noelle Namba. Callie Jones scored in the 12th minute for the Bulls (4-0-1, 2-0-1). Maya Rembrant scored twice and assisted on another goal to lead Redwood to a 5-0 win against Novato (1-3-0, 1-3-0). Grace Bouton, Anouk Guilhaume and McKenna McGonigle also scored for Redwood (2-0-2, 2-0-2). Maddie Pero had two assists while Hana Lefferts and Georgia Bennett had an assist apiece. Lily Travers found the back of the net twice to lead Tam to a 6-0 win against San Marin (1-4-0, 0-4-0). The Red-tailed Hawks (5-0-1, 3-0-1) also got goals from Ellie Ryerson, Thalia Greenberg, Lauren Burger and Caroline Suh. Greenberg also provided two assists. Wrestling Mathieu Isanove picked up a second-place finish at 220 pounds to lead Drake at the Green and Gold Tournament at San Marin on Saturday. The Pirates racked up 64 points to finish 10th as a team. Terra Linda scored 24 points, Tam scored 22.5 points, San Marin had 13 and Novato had 11.5. Thomas Faville placed fifth for Drake in the heavyweight bracket while Jonah Cirillo placed sixth at 195s. Drake coach Johann Gerlach was also happy with Andre Lopez going 2-2 in a loaded 145-pound bracket. Jaden Ramos picked up a fifth-place medal at 113 pounds, leading a Redwood contingent at the La Costa Canyon Classic in San Diego on Saturday. Ben Olsan also picked up a top-16 finish at 132 pounds for the Giants. Andrew Ji, Michael Acquistapace and Michael Fitzsimmons also made it to the second day of the tournament, which featured 52 teams from California, Nevada, Colorado and Arizona. Boys basketball Devon Dyer hit the game-winning basket with 3 seconds left to lift Tam to a 55-54 overtime win against Miramonte. Dyer had a team-high 16 points for Tam while Tyler Reed added 10 points and Dylan Reed scored nine. Viktor Rajkovic had 15 points and Kwentyn Wiggins added 13 as Branson kept it close late against Riordan before falling 61-51 at the Gridley Invitational. Will Jacobsen added nine for the Bulls (3-2). Rajkovic was named to the all-tournament team. Tyson Geraci piled up 36 points to lead San Marin to a 68-61 win over Windsor. Shaun Samuel added 10 points and eight rebounds for the Mustangs. Cash Fulton had 15 points and Grey Snyder added 14 to lead San Domenico to a 52-40 victory against Drake on Saturday. Nick Greenwood and Riley Wirth scored 15 and 11 points, respectively, but Marin Catholic lost 63-46 to Colorado’s Regis Jesuit in the Chris Vontoure Spartan Classic at De La Salle. Dylan Joyce was named to the all-tournament team for the Wildcats (3-2, 1-0), who face San Marin on Monday. Girls basketball Jenny Walker scored a team-high 19 points to lead Redwood to a 46-32 win against Clayton Valley Charter at the Alameda tournament on Saturday. Kylie Horstmeyer added nine points for the Giants (6-2) and Yessenia Mendieta added eight. Miranda Jacobson scored 17 points, but Marin Catholic fell 43-35 to Mountain View’s Saint Francis in the Bay Area Showcase at Chabot College on Friday night. Erika Stromberg and Sydney Politzer added seven and five points, respectively, for the Wildcats (3-3, 1-0), who face San Marin on Monday. Men’s basketball College of Marin picked up an 89-75 victory against Butte on Saturday to advance to Sunday’s consolation final at the Foothill Tournament. The Mariners (4-6) are set to play at 1 p.m. against De Anza. No further details were available.
