[related_articles location=”left” show_article_date=”false” article_type=”automatic-primary-section”] WATSONVILLE — Farm Discovery at Live Earth is hosting chef Ellie Lavender of Lavender Design + Cuisine for a hands-on vegan French baking class from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, June 29. Participants will make Strawberry Lavender Tart with Crushed Pistachios; Summer Vegetables Tart with Herbes de Provence; Plum Almond Orange Lavender Galette; Heirloom Cherry Tomato Galette with Basil-Lemon-Pistachio Pesto; and Baby Greens, Fennel, Orange & Radish Salad with citrus-herb dressing. Attendees will enjoy their creations with McBride Sisters’ wine (the Truvee Red Blend Central Coast 2013) plus organic French dark roast coffee. Students will enjoy a tour of Farm Discovery at Live Earth’s organic garden at the beginning of class.  Cost is $175, which includes a bottle of the Truvee wine to take home and a small bag of organic culinary lavender.
