CELTIC had an ambulance in attendance at Lennoxtown yesterday – but thankfully there was no injury scare for Neil Lennon. The vehicle was spotted in the background as the Hoops boss was pictured talking to head physio Tim Williamson. An ambulance was present at Lennoxtown But there was no concerns for any of the players working on the training pitch – a bizarre Uefa rule was the reason behind the paramedics’ attendance. The governing body requires an ambulance to be on site for all training sessions ahead of their tournaments. Uefa’s rule on this states: “For all other training sessions held in connection with a UEFA match or tournament the host club/association should ensure that an ALS ambulance, staffed by at least one paramedic, is available at a suitable location to permit emergency medical evacuation from the venue without delay.” Ambulances are also required to be present when teams train at the stadium they’ll play at on the days before Uefa matches.
