STARRY NIGHTS: A couple of notable names have been caught out and about exploring New England over the past few days. Renowned recording artist Anderson .Paak was spotted sitting down to a late lunch at Sushi Koya at Mohegan Sun late last week. The Grammy-winning rapper visited the restaurant before performing at the Connecticut casino, later coming up our way to perform during Boston Calling on Friday night. And Patriots rookie Chase Winovich is apparently wasting no time learning the ropes around town, spending his Friday in South Boston. It looks like the defensive end, who was a third-round draft pick from Michigan, rang in the weekend by stopping by Lincoln Tavern and Restaurant. The new NFL player took to Instagram to thank the local eatery and show off the Southie spread that he and his table enjoyed, which included a whole lot of raw oysters and pizza. A WARM WELCOME: A share of the Hub’s heaviest hitters gathered at Zuma, the international restaurant group founded by Rainer Becker, to welcome it to the city before it opens to the public on May 28. Prior to its official launch at Four Seasons One Dalton this coming week, Becker and Zuma CEO Sven Koch hosted an exclusive preview dinner for local VIPs. The duo welcomed a number of big Boston names including: Planet Hollywood Chairman and CEO Robert Earl; car mogul Herb Chambers; Patrick Lyons, Lyons Group honcho; Ed Kane, co-owner of Big Night Entertainment Group; Bain Capital‘s Ted Pappendick; Paulina Neely, wife of the Bruins legend Cam Neely; Davio’s restaurateur Steve DiFillippo; construction ace Jay Cashman; Boston Celtics CMO and EVP Shawn Sullivan; as well as real estate developers Alan Leventhal from Beacon Capital Partners and Doug Karp from New England Development. ISLAND TIME: The Patriots Cheerleaders have officially marked their calendars … for their annual Calendar Trip. The spirited squad has just announced they’ll be island-bound later this summer, heading to Saint Lucia to shoot their 2019-20 fitness calendar and hang out with fans. Hosted by Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa, the Pats’ pom-pom patrol is slated to pose during a prolonged sandy photo shoot from July 11 through 18. In addition to working on their fitness calendar and filming videos throughout the week, the cheerleaders will also cram plenty of facetime with fans into their schedules, holding meet-and-greets, signing autographs, performing routines and taking part in activities with the guests. Folks interested in tagging along for some fun in the sun can find exclusive rates at the Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa’s adult-only Harmony accommodations with the code “CHEER.” And to find more information about the upcoming Calendar Trip, you can check out the Patriots’ website.
