The Chargers won Pool A in the 10-team tournament and will meet the Pool B winner at 7 p.m. Friday at El Dorado. The winner will play the Pool C winner for the championship at 6:15 p.m. Saturday at Woodbridge. No. 21 Fairmont Prep won an early San Joaquin League game with Saddleback Valley Christian 80-60 at home. Kofi Aboagye had 22 points and Atin Wright 20 for the Huskies. Gavin O’Neill led SVC with 27 points. Bolsa Grande rallied from 10 points down in the fourth quarter to beat Katella 53-50 in a nonleague game at Katella. Ruben Nunez led the Matadors with 14 points, seven of them in the fourth quarter, including a basket with seven seconds left to virtually seal the win at 53-50. No. 4 JSerra trailed by 15 points at halftime but rallied to beat Esperanza 66-53 in the Gary Raya/SoCal Elite Tournament. The Lions were down 33-18 at intermission but took control with a 26-9 third quarter to take a 44-42 edge into the fourth. Esperanza’s Jason Francis scored 32 points with seven 3-pointers. Sarah Matossian had 23 points, seven rebounds and six steals to lead the Wolverines, who will play Fountain Valley in the final Thursday. Sara Eyre added 12 points and Nicole Referente 11, while Abby Miller dished nine assists. No. 2 Rosary scored the first 28 points of the game and wound up in triple digits with a 101-24 win over Cypress in the first round of the Santa Ana Elks Classic at Segerstrom. The Royals (5-2) have not scored below 60 points all season. Kate Goostrey scored 19 points, Breanne Ha 15 and Kaylee Byon 13 as Rosary spread the scoring around. The Royals will play Palos Verdes at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
