It was on a double date (in double denim, no less) that Pip Edwards first voiced her idea for a fashion-focused activewear brand to friend and future business partner Claire Tregoning. It started with a name — P.E Nation — that evoked memories of high school sports classes and played on 80s and 90s retro references. It was also about creating clothing that Edwards actually wanted to wear beyond the walls of the gym. She wanted design-driven pieces that were acceptable on the street.
