Four pitchers combined on a three-hitter Wednesday, propelling the Pacific Grove baseball team to a 1-0 win over Sacred Heart Prep of Atherton. Pacific Grove managed just two hits, none bigger than Charlie McMahon’s run scoring single for the games only run in the second inning. Justin Heyn also singled while Hunter Hanes scored the game-winning run for the Breakers, who are tied for first in the Mission Division at 13-2. Kevahn Ebron allowed two hits in three innings, striking out three. Connor Synsteby and Colton Bell kept the Gators off the scoreboad, with Dylan Graham hurling a hitless seventh to get the save. Gonzales 12, Seaside 4: Isaiah Banuelos tossed a complete game as the Spartans of Gonzales beat Seaside. Xando Mendez came within a triple of hitting for the cycle, singling, doubling twice and hitting a three-run homer for Gonzales. Gonzalo Villagomez and Manny Vargas each knocked in a pair. Los Lomas 5, Salinas 4: Max Farfan had two hits and drove in a run in the Cowboys loss. Cal bound Nathan Martorella added two hits for Salinas while Will Jewell, Lane Radley and Cobi Lemus all drove in a run. Evan Maldonaldo allowed two runs in four innings of work. Alisal 9, King City 2: Xavier Valenzuela had three hits and scored two runs in the Trojans win. Daniel Miranda added two hits and an RBI for Alisal while Daniel Villegas got the win on the bump. North County 20, Trinity 1: Thomas Harrison tossed a one-hitter as the Condors kept their Cypress Division title hopes alive. Sebastian Ramirez had four hits and drove in five runs for North County. Rudy Diaz and Trevor John each had two hits and two RBI. Greenfield 12, Pajaro Valley 0: Andy Espinosa had three hits and tossed three shutout innings of relief as the Bruins remained in first place in the Cypress Division at 7-2. Oscar Villagomez scored three runs for Greenfield while Augustin Pantoja and Andrew Trujillo each drove in a run. Prep softball Trinity 12, Marina 2: The Warriors improved to 7-4 in the Santa Lucia Division as Hanna Lopez struck out eight to get the win. Bri Wilcox had two hits and drove in four runs for Trinity while Victoria Perez knocked in three runs and scored three runs. Camren Cabanilla also scored three runs and Annalisa Simonich collected an RBI. Salinas 10, Monterey 0: Jesseca Stewart tossed a gem in the circle while Kayla Stone had three hits, including a homer as the Cowboys blanked Monterey. Natalia Martinez, Emily Gonzalez and Makenzi Laporte all had two hits for Salinas while Nevaeh Pinon drove in a pair of runs. Women’s golf CSUMB: The Otters will wait to learn if they advance to the NCAA West Regionals after finishing second at the California Collegiate Athletic Association championships at Rancho Santa Fe. CSUMB shot a record low 295 for the second consecutive day to finish plus 41, breaking the school record of plus 43 over a 54-hole tournament. Ranked No. 10 in the latest NCAA Division II West Regions, the top 12 teams from the final rankings advance to the West Regionals. Zoe Offield shot 2-over 73 to place fourth overall. Linnea Karlsson finished with a 78 to place sixth. Tarin Leong was ninth and Roni Rincon 10th. Senior Alexis Marshall carded her best round at 77. Boys swimming Monterey 183, Pacific Grove 53: David Parmley and Jonah Gomes were both double event winners as the Toreadores completed an undefeated league season. Parmley won the 200 free and 100 free for Monterey while Gomes swam off with wins in the 50 free and 100 back. Gomes also swam legs on the winning 200 medley relay and 200 free relay. Jeremy Isack won the 100 breast and swam legs on both winning relay teams. The Mission Division championships will be held April 26. Girls swimming Monterey 97, Pacific Grove 86: Sylvia Reiter won the 50 free and 100 fly, and swam legs on the winning 200 medley relay and 400 free relay in the Toreadores win. Jena Nguyen won the 500 free and swam legs on two winning relays, while Ansley Hirstein captured the 100 free and swam legs on both relays. Selly Diallo won the 200 IM and 100 breast for Pacific Grove and swam a leg on the winning 200 free relay. Diallo was a state meet qualifier as a freshman in 2017.
