The cameras in these newer phones are pretty amazing. The pictures are sharp and smooth, and they have good tones and clarity. They’re good, but… For the most part I don’t like them much. Sometimes they work for me, but usually no. The slick smooth polished look rubs me the wrong way. I know – […]

MUNSTER coach Johann van Graan has called on his side to embrace the pressure of a Champions Cup semi-final. He wants them to end their miserable run at this stage of the competition which has seen them lose out in their last six semis. Munster boss van Graan Van Graan said: “We will look to impose our plan on Saracens. It’s a European semi-final — a once-off. “You work the whole year, the whole pre-season for moments like Saturday. “You’ve got to embrace it, you’ve got to enjoy it.” Van Grann knows that his nine months of work with the Reds will be deemed a success or failure depending on how his charges answer his call to arms at the Ricoh Arena today. And it will not help the Munster cause that they will have to plan without two of their most talented attackers in Keith Earls (thigh) and Joey Carbery (hamstring). The Munster boss with Calvin Nash Tyler Bleyendaal will fill in for Carbery at No 10 once more, while JJ Hanrahan is an able back-up. Darren Sweetnam replaces Earls on the wing. They have named the same pack that saw them through against Edinburgh, which means that Jack O’Donoghue starts at openside flanker. Van Graan is keenly aware of how tough it will be against Saracens, who have won three of their last five European semi-finals — not to mention two finals. He added: “Saracens are currently the top team in the Champions Cup — if you look at it statistically. Munster will be without Keith Earls “They are the only team who haven’t lost a game, winning six out of six in the pool stages and then beating Glasgow in the quarter-finals. “The more you look, the less you find — because they’re such a good side. “A lot of teams have tried various things against them — but you just have to look at the pool stages and what happened in the quarter-final against Glasgow.” Sarries coach Mark McCall welcomes back Mako Vunipola, Richard Wiggleswoth and Brad Barritt from injury. And with Owen Farrell returning at out-half and Billy Vunipola — despite a hectic week — starting at No 8 — it does not get any easier for the visitors. Munster’s Conor Murray But Van Graan said: “If you get into the last four of Europe, it’s not supposed to be easy. “We’re looking forward to the challenge and looking forward to measuring ourselves against one of the top teams. “Obviously, the core of our starting team is well settled. — and that’s what you want. “And you want guys to put up their hands like they did against Cardiff, to a lesser extent against Zebre and at the weekend against Treviso. van Graan “It’s great that we’ve had a total of 54 players involved over the season. “The guys just keep on pushing. That’s all the players can do — keep on pushing.” Sarries top the Champions Cup charts for tries scored, points accumulated and lineout success. Interestingly, though, Munster top the turnover table — and this could prove crucial. The Reds tally of 56 steals is well clear of Sarries’ 48. The English side feed off quick ball and if Munster can maintain their breakdown standards and starve the Premiership outfit of clean possession, it could prove a key factor. With this in mind, however, they must improve on their two recent PRO14 games when the Munster defence allowed Cardiff and Benetton to break through for soft tries. Like Munster, Sarries are currently second in their domestic league, trailing Exeter Chiefs by nine points. Their form away from Allianz Park has been pretty abysmal, having lost all five English Premiership games on the road so far this year. And with the Munster fans at least matching the ‘home’ contingent at the Ricoh, this could prove to be another plus for the Reds. [article-rail-section title=”MOST READ SPORT” posts_category=”18″ posts_number=”6″ query_type=”popular” /] A spot in the final will be hard-earned, though, and it would be another in the long list of monumental Munster achievements if they can deliver the goods.
