“Create a life you don’t need a vacation from.”  Good advice.  We went to town today for some barn odds and ends and the parade of RV’s getting out of Dodge for the long weekend was pretty impressive.  Pick-ups pulling trailers, pulling boats or ATVs, going 80 mph with their hair on fire to get […]

Westward We Wander

A legendary rock climbing destination, Smith Rock State Park is a paradise for hikers as well. We made a (not-long-enough) stop here for a few hours on our way south to Bend. What our 4-mile-hiked lacked in length, it made up for with a challenging workout and spectacular scenery.

Shell On Wheels

That title makes it pretty clear what the “upcoming international trip” I mentioned in the last two posts is about.  But before we could go to Cuba, we had family to visit and things to take care of throughout South Florida.  Our grand total of 3 miles in January through March for Serenity was about […]

Pack up the family for a fun filled camping trip to start your summer fun! Camping is a great way to just get away with the family without having to go far or spend a ton of money. It’s also an amazing way to connect with your family, stepping away from the comforts of every day normalcy.

The compressor in your RV’s air conditioner takes more power to start up than it takes to run. As a result, you may find that you can’t run it when powering your RV using a small, portable generator. Or you my have problems tripping the 30-amp breaker if you try running both air conditioners when it’s really hot out. Not any more! The Micro-Air EasyStart 364 uses a 4-part start-up sequence to dramatically reduce the current required to get your A/C compressor running. So don’t get all hot and bothered this summer (or buy a bigger generator than you really need!)… run your A/C and stay cool!

Dudaks Living Our Dream

On Monday, May 20, 2019, after having one more serving of corn meal mush at Bob Evans in Streetsboro, Ohio, David and I began the next leg of our Spring trip.  We left the KOA and pointed East again, this time heading for Niagara Falls, Ontario.  We had signed up for an RV caravan tour […]

From the Backstretch by Reuben Frank

Cherokee graduate Matt Gross, who never won a sectional, county or conference title during his high school track career, earned All-America status in the javelin Thursday. Gross, a sophomore at Rutgers-Camden, placed sixth in the javelin at the NCAA Division 3 Championships at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. Gross, seeded 12th, threw a personal-best 199-4, […]

I’m participating in The Longest Line of RV’s Guiness Book of Records Challenge, organised by the Australian Motorhoming Lions Club. It’s a massive organisational challenge also. Over 900 RV’s have arrived in the small Western Queensland town of Barcaldine (bar-call-din) and been parked at the Showgrounds awaiting the formation of The Longest Line on Sunday. […]
