Burgerim, a global chain that specializes in gourmet sliders, is continuing its rapid expansion throughout the Bay Area. The latest location to open is on North First Street in San Jose, not far from Mineta San Jose International Airport and the city’s high-tech corridor. It’s the third Burgerim for San Jose; the others are at El Paseo de Saratoga and in the Cambrian area on Branham Lane. Here’s how the build-your-burger concept here works: Each Burgerim patty is what the company calls a “sensibly sized” 3 ounces, and customers can select “uno, duo or trio” or a party box. Customization choices range from type of patty (beef, dry-aged beef, spicy Merguez beef, Spanish beef, lamb, turkey, chicken, salmon or the meat-free falafel or veggie) to the buns, sauces and toppings (cheese, jalapeños, bacon, avocado, grilled onions, fried egg and more). [related_articles location=”left” show_article_date=”false” article_type=”curated” curated_ids=”6104234,6069221″]Salads, chicken wings, fries, onion rings and other sides round out the offerings. Details: This location, at 1751 N. First St., is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. www.burgerim.com

These images were shot at the Saratoga National Historic Park in the Adirondack Mountains, the site of a pivotal Revolutionary War Battle.  I tried to take a ride through the battlefield area in the early morning hoping to capture mist in the fields but the road was not opened yet, so I ended up going […]

I can’t believe I’ve gone a week without blogging! Honestly, I look forward to keeping in touch with y’all via my blog. Suffice to say only a SUPER INTENSE work week – or an act of God – would keep me from my (somewhat) regular schedule of posting. However, last week was both intense and […]

Summer is the new Winter when it comes to racetrack cancellations. February’s snow and ice has nothing, it seems, on July’s heat and humidity. Fortunately, many of the weekend’s cancellations came with advance notice, so there was minimal damage suffered to our little tournament ecosystem here at HorseTourneys. Plus, everything was well-predicted in advance, so […]
