In my humble opinion...

Ever since the Louisiana Purchase was completed in 1803, America has been hell-bent on expansion. The same applies to it’s sports, especially football. Hell, we play four to five NFL games in London a year–a city where they have to place our countries name in front of football in order to differentiate it from soccer. […]

[dfm_iframe src=”https://apps.mercurynews.com/newsletters-signup/?campaign=dubsdaily” width=”100%” height=”220px” allowfullscreen=”yes” scrolling=”yes” /] After suffering one of their worst loses of the season, the Warriors will take their talents up I-80 to face the upstart Kings. Here’s everything you need to know about the matchup… Where/When: Golden 1 Arena, 7 p.m. (NBCSBA) Kings projected starters: Nemanja Bjelica, Willie Cauley-Stein, De’Aaron Fox, Iman Shumpert Kings stock report: This young Sacramento team has been one of the pleasant surprises this season, ascending to the eighth seed in the Western Conference with impressive wins against the Jazz, Pacers and Timberwolves. The Kings are led by Fox, who’s averaging 17.9 points, 7.6 assists and 3.6 rebounds in his second season. Fox leads a young core that includes rookie Marvin Bagley III, Cauley-Stein and Buddy Hield, helping comprise one of the fastest teams in the league. Heading into Friday’s matchup, the Kings will be riding a two-game winning streak with zero fear of the champs. Last time (Nov. 24): Warriors 117, Kings 116 Klay Thompson hit the game-winning shot with five seconds left. Kevin Durant scored 44 points, adding 13 rebounds and seven assists. Thompson added 31 points. Things to look for: Better start for the Warriors? In Wednesday’s 113-93 loss to the Raptors, Golden State committed seven of its first 17 turnovers in the first half, allowing 58 points in the paint. As a result, the Warriors found themselves down 16 at the half. “We didn’t really bring the level of intensity that we needed until the start of the third quarter,” said Warriors coach Steve Kerr. “That was the first sign of life with our defense, but at that point, we were swimming upstream.” Golden State will hope to change that trend against the feisty Kings. The Kings are fast. Led by Fox, the Kings are among the fastest teams in the league. Through 27 games, Sacramento is second in the league in pace, led by the ultra-fast Fox. Adding to their fast-paced offense, they’re fourth in the league in effective field goal percentage — a metric that gives a more accurate representation of a player’s shooting because it adjusts for 3-point makes. With the champs in town, the upstart Kings will try to run Golden State out of the gym.
