We left Vegas after only 2 nights and I can’t say I have any inclination to go back, especially with children. It isn’t really a kid friendly city. We had booked to stay at the Embassy Suites (South) near the airport in LA for the night and my expectations were quite low. It is nowhere […]

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. — More than 8,000 people from all over the world have already purchased passes this month to take the hike up to Glenwood Canyon’s Hanging Lake. The Post Independent reported Tuesday that a total of 8,639 people have booked their chance to hike the attraction at some point this summer since the reservation system at VisitGlenwood.com launched April 1. [related_articles location=”right” show_article_date=”false” article_type=”automatic-primary-tag”] More than 1,300 of those people have booked their spot to make the hike after biking to the trail, and avoiding the shuttle. From May 1 to Oct. 31, the only way to access the trailhead by car is a shuttle leaving from the Hanging Lake Welcome Center near the Glenwood Springs Community Center. The reservation costs $12, but until April 30, an “early bird” reservation to bike to the trailhead is available for $9.50. ___ Information from: Post Independent, http://www.postindependent.com/

Penny for My Thoughts

Since my freshman year at the University of Tampa, on-campus parking and transportation have been ongoing issues. The vast majority of students at this school commute to campus and most do not enjoy the stress that comes with it. Unfortunately thanks to the location of campus, there is not much room for growth; which is […]

Sonoran Visions

As we sped north by northwest away from Kingman, Ariz., a jagged line of black hills slowly began to stand out against the dawn sky. We entertained ourselves with fantasies about the survivalist enclaves that might lie at the end of those graded roads that stabbed into the desert on either side of U.S. 93. […]

It’s our last night in San Jose, we just got back from having a delicious meal at Alma de Amón and I think the Mexican chocolate cake, which was cayenne-pepper spicy, might’ve finished us both off. Eddie is throwing back the zantac while I update the blog. So, for the past two weeks we’ve been: […]
