Why Evolution Is True

So I got an email from reader Merilee (via one “Ron”) which said the following: In the UK, some supermarkets have admitted that there is horse meat in their home cooked burgers. Even places like Burger King have had to admit that there are “small amounts” of horse meat in their burgers. Tesco is a […]

Live Your Truth

Thanks for joining me!  I had a long conversation with a close friend and something inside of me clicked.  I needed to write about my experiences growing up in a Jehovah’s Witness household!  This is not a representation of all children raised in the “truth” as it is commonly referred to but being a 3rd […]

Tharren Brown, Eureka: I was thinking maybe a steak and maybe a motel; something a little romantic by ourselves without the kids. Patricia Sennot, Blue Lake: Generally, what my boyfriend likes to do is fix me a special meal, probably filet mignon with roasted squash and some brocollini. Naotoshi Yoshida, Eureka: We like to eat at the Bayfront One and find something nice and binge-worthy to watch on Netflix. Day Jordan, Eureka: It’s pretty low-key; I work over at the Silvercrest Residence for low-income seniors; one of my clients, an elderly lady, her husband passed away. She invited me out to a friendship dinner so I’m going to keep her company. Margann Fabian, Blue Lake: A good bottle of wine and a steak at home.

Police detained and questioned a man after a woman was found dead in a Riverside apartment early Tuesday. The Riverside Police Department said officers went to an apartment in the 3000 block of Orange Street for a welfare check at around 2:45 a.m. on Tuesday. On arrival at Silvercrest Senior Residence, a woman in her 60s was found unconscious with visible injuries. Paramedics with the Riverside Fire Department declared the woman dead once they arrived at the apartment. A man in his 30s, whose identity has not been released by police as he hasn’t been officially arrested or booked, was detained and taken to a police station for questioning, according to police Officer Ryan Railsback. “There’s not a whole lot of people walking around at 3 in the morning,” Railsback said. “We determined that this person was likely involved, but we’re going to make sure we have the proper guy.” Police in California can detain someone for up to 48 hours without charges being brought. Once 48 hours has passed with no charges filed, the person must be released. [related_articles location=”left” show_article_date=”false” article_type=”automatic-primary-tag”]
