Hemet police are looking for a man who they say looked directly into a security camera before burglarizing a home being fumigated. “Who is this man?” a news release asked. “The Hemet Police Department would like to discuss this matter with the person.” The burglary happened April 20 in the 600 block of East Stetson Avenue. A video shows a balding man wearing glasses and holding a cigarette in his mouth entering the fumigation tent. He stumbles before walking up to the camera. He holds his cell phone up to the camera, which records the time shown on his phone: 2:18 a.m. He then hits the camera with his left elbow several times. The man then entered the home and stole property, the release said. [related_articles location=”left” show_article_date=”false” article_type=”automatic-primary-section”] Police asked that anyone with information on the case contact detectives at 951-765-2400, through the department’s smartphone app or anonymously at crimestoppersplus.org or 866-640-8477.
