What I will do, in opposition, is touch upon those films that achieved mastery in all categories (and in my humble opinion), but […]

The flickering streetlights In the dark, Reminded me of the fireflies I met, while I was twelve. When my Pappa took me out To see a full moon in all its glory In the open field where a cherry tree stood. I wasn’t matured then but Innocent and curious I was And no darkness didn’t […]

Upon entering the drug store and turning the corner, I found myself staring at the shutters stretched across the pharmacy countertop. I walked back to my car with a frustrated, dejected feeling, blaming myself for not checking the open hours before leaving the house. It mirrors the human-centered design process — one of the main elements of tactical urbanism which focuses on user-testing and determined needs. Another key part of this strategy is fast reiteration, which allows this […]

The Oscar season of this year has been pretty wild and unpredictable. At first, “A Star is Born” seemed to be the front runner, but then “Green Book” and “Bohemian Rhapsody” stole the show at the Golden Globe Awards, and then “Black Panther” triumphed at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, and then “The Favourite” and […]

Hawthorne police received a call about 2:45 a.m. of a single-vehicle crash on Van Ness Avenue at 115th Street and found a vehicle overturned, Lt. Steven Romero said. The vehicle struck a power pole, snapping it in half and then hit a wall leading to the backyard of a home, Romero said. The driver was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, Romero said. The crash caused a complete closure of Van Ness Avenue between Imperial Highway and 116th Street while Southern California Edison made repairs to the power pole, Romero said. Just Another Bitch in the City

It’s true. I dream of the day hunters embrace gender variance and marry rich rabbits. To be fair, this probably isn’t too far off from what the more reactionary elements of the conservative population think. Indeed, that rabbit may have been a normal, god-fearing white man, with a blue-collar job, a wife, and two kids. […]
