BOYS BASKETBALL Monday’s basketball scoreboard No. 22 Servite earned its fourteenth win of the season against Anaheim in a nonleague game. The win was significant for the Friars because it guaranteed that they will finish with at least a .500 record and will qualify for an at-large playoff berth. Kunal Bagga scored 14 points in the 66-34 rout of the Colonists. Freshman guard Tajavis Miller added 13 points for Servite. Nico Dasca scored 33 points in a 78-61 win for Costa Mesa over Hesperia Christian. Dasca was coming off a 38-point game against Calvary Chapel Friday. Osman Hefner scored 20 points for the Mustangs and Tre Villalpando dished out 9 assists. Costa Mesa plays Orange in an Orange Coast League game Wednesday. No. 3 Orange Lutheran had its first 100-point game this season with a 100-77 win over Cathedral of Los Angeles in the MLK Hoopfest at Orange Lutheran High. Makur Maker had a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds for the Lancers. Cade Potter and Jorge Ochoa scored 19 and 15 points, respectively. No. 11 Trabuco Hills cruised to a 73-59 win over No. 13 Mission Viejo in a South Coast League game at Trabuco Hills High. The Mustangs are 4-1 in league play and are tied for first place with No. 19 Capistrano Valley. Trabuco Hills won both league matchups against Mission Viejo, who is in third place in league with a 3-3 record. Kelvin Cabrera made six 3-pointers and led the Mustangs with 25 points. Trevor Hotmer came close to a double-double with 12 points and 9 rebounds. No. 12 Tesoro clinched the Sea View League championship by beating No. 20 El Toro 66-56 at El Toro High. The Titans led by 20 points at the end of the third quarter. Noah Honetschlager led the Titans’ scoring with 20 points. Matt DeAngelo scored 16 points and Triston Broughton added 15. Tyler Broughton had a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds. Tesoro can clinch the outright league championship if they beat Dana Hills Friday.
