A few weeks ago, I did something awesome. I have been dreaming of photographing beautiful elopements in the mountains and in the woods, so I just created my own adventure elopement! My beautiful friend Brooke and her friend Seiji modeled for me. We found a beautiful dress for Brooke to wear that mimicked all of […]

Use Health News

I read somewhere that chemical sunblockers i.e. with zinc provide protection immediately. Is this true? Until I’ve been waiting 10-20 minutes before going out after applying sunblock. It would be very nice to just rub it on and leave the house. There has been a ton of controversy about sunscreens lately, with studies on various […]

Money Money Money

Total: 6752.24USD The year started off busy with last minute (but much needed) travel home. Enroute I visited two very close friends, which meant rushed gift shopping, alcohol for parents, and a lot of food. I don’t get to indulge these folks often, so while it wasn’t the best for my wallet, it was money […]

Finally a race and area I have never been too. I had been doing Canyons 100K for the last 3 years and thought I would mix it up this year and travel to the bay area for a Western State Qualifier. Quicksilver 100K is located just outside of San Jose in the Almaden State Park. […]

Adventures of Nick and Ruby

Nick has a couple of buddies from high school that landed in Colorado. One day, he stumbled upon some old music that reminded him of these guys and then we booked flights! Spirit had relatively cheap round trip tickets from DTW to Denver. We went for a long weekend, flying out after work on Friday […]

NOMID Nomad

Today is Tuesday. It was supposed to be a quiet day.  We went to breakfast. I walked to Trader Joes and bought some groceries. I did a short course for my work at VIPKid and Martha rested.  I called the Transportation Office at the NIH and arranged a wheelchair-accessible shuttle for Martha’s 1:00 appointment and […]

Last week Kris and I officially went out on a date together, out to eat WITHOUT the baby! Kris’ mom was kind enough to take the afternoon off so us parents could sneak away for a few hours for a little happy hour. We decided to go to a restaurant called North Italia. I had […]

Grape Juice Mom

We’re all busy and we compare ourselves to others. And there’s this natural assumption in that comparison that there’s no way that her life is harder or busier than mine. If you too are a mom, you’ve observed what tasks other moms are taking on, how put together their outfits are, how nice their […]

A few girlfriends and I were talking about what we are doing to lose the baby weight and what we have done in the past that has or hasn’t worked and it made me laugh thinking about what a predictable cycle it can be… Resolve Enough is enough! I am doing this. We have a […]

Hawken Los Angeles Intensive Blog

Everyone arrived at the airport by 5:15 a.m. to board our plane to Los Angeles. The plane ride lasted four hours and most people remarked that it seemed unnaturally long (probably because of the anticipation of the week ahead). When we arrived in Los Angeles, we took four Ubers from the Airport to USC. Two […]

It’s been months since I’ve had the time and breathing space to sit down and actually compose what i’ve been thinking. Life’s been very interesting lately to say the very least, and I think it was today when I had a moment to breathe I decided to head to a space I found great comfort […]
