University of Vermont sophomore, Syd Ovitt, has launched a campaign to change this, and legislators are paying attention. On a snowy afternoon, Ovitt stood behind a fold-up table in UVM’s student center, […]

In Words and Phrases

There is a lot of hockey going on right now, everybody. Pro, college, and junior, women and men. It’s a great time to be a hockey fan, because there’s something happening almost every single night. And the women’s college matchups are fantastic every weekend. This time around, we got to see the defending champs beat […]

Diverse Models Matter

Vogue Australia made a stand with its 2018 April cover featuring former South Sudanese refugee, now Australia-based model Akiima, Indigenous model Charlee Fraser, trans model Andreja Pejicć and Australian-born Chinese model Fernanda Ly. The fashion industry proclaimed that this year’s Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia (MBFWA), in Sydney, would be a “ a model of multiculturalism”. However a look at the fashion runway from the May shows that there was tokenistic casting, with the majority models being young slim Caucasian women.
