I decided to create this design because rowing is a special part of my life. I used the rowing boat as a representation of my sport. Something that really inspired me with this design was practicing in the morning and evenings. With rowing, the water is best in the morning and evening because it generally […]

Travels with my camera

Sunday 17th February Early on Sunday morning we drove out of Saigon along country roads and into the Mekong Delta countryside. Every road was lined with shops, shacks, cafes and temples. Most of the cafes seem to have hammocks as well as tables and chairs. There were warehouses selling giant buddhas, big pots for trees, […]

We had originally planned on spending a month in Norway. We wanted to explore the countryside, spend Christmas in the same area my mother’s ancestors are from, and get a real feel for the culture and traditions. However, we were offered a house sit in the French Alps for most of December into January, and […]

JOE MARLER has revealed he told Eddie Jones to “get f*****” when he tried to sub him in his final Test match – but would still happily play for the England coach again. Retired Test prop Marler decided he was quitting in last summer’s tour of South Africa and wanted to go out with a bang at Newlands. Harlequins prop Joe Marler retired from international duty in September So when Red Rose boss Jones tried to hook him in Cape Town, the Harlequins man told the Aussie where to go. Marler said he was sent a message to come off by attack coach Scott Wisemantel. He added: “It was about 50 or 60 minutes in the last Test and Wisey came on and was like, ‘Mate, the boss says you’ve got five more minutes.’ “And I said, ‘Wisey, you can tell him to get f*****!’ He was like, ‘Errr… I’m not going to do that Joe,’ and then he ran off with the waters. “Another 10 minutes goes and he came back on and said: ‘Last effort, mate, last couple of minutes.’ Marler has lifted the lid on the time Eddie Jones wanted to take him off against South Africa Marler told attack coach Scott Wisemantel to tell Jones to ‘get f*****’ “And I said: ‘Wisey, honestly… you’ve got the mic on now. Tell the boss, get f*****! I am staying on mate, and we are seeing this f****** job out.’ “I was shattered, finished the game, done, I had made my decision. We were in the after-match function and I’m sitting there on one of the stools with a couple of boys and a glass of red. “Someone taps me on the shoulder and it was Eddie. He goes:, ‘F****** loved that!’ I was like, ‘What?’, And he goes, ‘F****** loved that!’ I was like, ‘What do you mean?’ And he was like, ‘You know…!’. “Because of my mindset of where I was at, you don’t really think of, ‘Hang on a minute, I’ve just told the boss to get f*****!’.” Marler has claimed he will still return to England duty should Jones ever need him [article-rail-section title=”LATEST RUGBY UNION NEWS” posts_category=”20″ posts_number=”6″ query_type=”popular” /] Speaking on Joe’s House of Rugby podcast alongside SunSport columnist James Haskell, Marler also said that he wouldn’t close the door fully on his country. He quit to spend more time with his young family as he found the pressures of being away from home and missing out on his kids grow up too much. But the 59-capped front-rower said: “In the very unlikely event that Eddie comes to me and goes, ‘Mate, we need you to come and hold a pad and do Mako Vunipola’s training’, I don’t know. You never say never. “I have heard from Eddie by text. He hasn’t [asked me if I’ll change my mind]. He’s like, ‘Thank f*** for that, mate, because I was going to do it anyway!’.” [bc_video video_id=”6004447077001″ account_id=”5067014667001″ player_id=”default” embed=”in-page” padding_top=”56%” autoplay=”” min_width=”0px” max_width=”640px” width=”100%” height=”100%” caption=”Six Nations Wales vs England: How can I watch, kick-off time, live stream, team news ahead of crunch clash in Cardiff”]
