WWE icon Ric Flair has vowed to be “wooing in no time” following his release from hospital just a day after undergoing successful heart surgery. The 70-year-old wrestling legend was rushed to the emergency room early last week after reportedly suffering a “very serious” medical emergency. Ric Flair has been released from hospital Flair is now recovering at home in Georgia after he was seen in photos, obtained by TMZ, being wheeled out of the hospital with his wife, Wendy Barlow, by his side. The Nature Boy appeared in high spirits as he was pushed along by a nurse while the sports entertainer kept true to form by wearing a T-shirt with his own face on it. He also sported a compression band around his waist and looked to have his left arm kept in a brace but downplayed his condition when posting on social media. Flair wrote on Twitter: “The Naitch is home!!! Thank you to all the incredible staff and doctors at Gwinnett Medical Center once again! I am so thankful for all my family, friends, and fans for all the love. “At this time in my life, I never take it for granted. I will be back up and WOOOOOing in no time!”
At this time in my life, I never take it for granted. I will be back up and WOOOOOing in no time!
The star was scheduled to be roasted on May 25 during a four-day wrestling convention in Las Vegas, but TMZ reported that he pulled out of the event. His son-in-law Conrad Thompson told Sports Illustrated on Tuesday: “Everything changed when he went to the hospital last week, ahead of the appointment. “That’s when the doctors discovered a complication, delaying surgery from last week to this week. That complication is preventing air travel. “So, the bad news is the roast is postponed to a date yet to be determined. The good news is that his surgery was successful and he will be back to his regular routine again very soon.” This is not the first health issue from which Flair has suffered, after he narrowly escaped death in 2017 when he was placed in a coma for 11 days following a ruptured intestine.
